"Can't we all just get along?" RK. I didn't start the thread to pick on anybody. I was just making an observation. IMO, Nitro guys and FE guys are more alike than we want to admit to.

More Nitro guys have FE boats than Gas Guys. Gas is just too easy. All the hulls are about the same size and you just gas and go all day. Tough to convert them. Heck I have 2 Gas boats. One of my favorites is the Stocker.

Now I could use some help getting him into lipo's . Amp head is what Terry calls me and I return the volley with fossil burner. At the end of it all we are good friends and love to race and love the hobby. Now we are starting to run more mixed classes other than open class , Baby steps . Race On !!!!

I bought my first boat (boats) in late November 2012, I practiced quite a bit prior to attending my first race in Allanta. I have to say the support we (wife and me) received was inspiring, Doug, Ron, Mike, Dick, Buddy where very helpful. Its no way to know everything but with the help from other competors we had a great weekend.

Its great to see the volume of Nitro-Gas-and-FE competors working together, know doubt we have found a home and plan to attend most of the events.

Our nitro and gas guys out here were great for a long time, even though they didn't understand or "get" FE they still let us race with them and against them. Then we started to get faster, more reliable and driving better and all of the sudden they started changing rules and eliminating us from classes. We used to be able to run in 9 classes now we are down to 5. There was even a rule change proposal this year that would have eliminated us from running Open Cat, it's the only class we can even run a cat in at all? We have made a speed concession rule in scale, we have to keep our speed 55mph or less because the Nitro guys can't keep up. The reality is the Nitro guys can't even keep their engines lit for a full heat. I don't hate on Nitro guys, I was a Nitro boat and car guy for 15 years and still run a couple nitro and gas boats, but the fuel guys out here are starting to get ticked off that we're beating them and theyre trying to eliminate us from their racing, it's a bit of a bummer because all we do is bring more people and boats to their races.

Don't know bout vids, but the stills show one very nice boat!! Interior, exterior, take your pick. That thing looks like it's going 30~40mph standing still.

                        Count Your Blessings

All of you guys doing this nitro/gas boat vs FE boat thing should be grateful you have places to race at all!!

There is absolutely no R/C boat racing where I live, period!! The facilities are here, just a complete lack of interest. Can't even get people to show up at the track to race R/C trucks (SCT).

I don't know if there's any racing going on up in Portland (Oregon); or if I would have to drive all the way up to Seattle (12hrs ea way). If Seattle, then I have to compete against Jim Clark, Darrin Jordon, people of their caliber - I might as well stay home, I don't stand a chance.

So quit your pissing & moaning and try counting your blessings.

We "Nitro Guys" KNOW full well the power of current FE boats. If I was into chasing SAW records it would be with FE power.. But im not… I am into heat racing, make mine a Nitro boat.. so what, who cares.

Its the guys out of the loop that you want to help. Let face it you know when somebody is being an ass.. let it go.

I have seen "little boat" syndrome from you FE guys too. Cop an attitude because they "race fast electric boats". It goes BOTH WAYS man.

                          Now for the gas guys..............CRIPES...

Its time to call a truce.. get over it.. I am a DIE HARD NITRO RACER.. and I am OVER IT. I don’t like being called ignorant but I can get over that too.

Mike - very well put, check out post #56.

FYI: I would have to race FE, one of the 2 local lakes is electric only for human size, show up with a nitro/gas R/C boat?? Think I would be just asking for trouble.

Question: Probably a dumb one, sorry. Is there such a thing as a "stock" class for F/E's like the UL-1?? Most of the racing talk I see on this forum seems to aimed at "P-spec", I'm guessing that means SV / SVR / Revolt - PB IM's, etc. etc.

                          Thanks

They do have p-limited/20 rigger(hydro). I raced my UL-1 against nitros and took 2nd place in the club for the year. Not because I was the fastest but because I managed to finish consistently.
