Ig•nor•ant Lacking knowledge, information, or awareness about something in particular.

When I type "ignorant" into Google this is the very first definition which shows up:

"Lacking knowledge or awareness in general; uneducated or unsophisticated."

I would be remiss in my responsibility, in counterpoint to Howard's unfortunate experience, to point out that the Nitro guys here in L.A. are some of the nicest, well r/c boating educated people I've had the pleasure of sharing the lake with. Just sayin'......

When us Electric guys began infiltrating what had been for many years the exclusive purvue of nitro and then gassers we were viewed with friendly curiosity, and over time as we showed how serious we were about enjoying the hobby regardless of what spun our props, it honestly has become one happy family. We are allowed FE heats during the gas/nitro events and are having a ball.

Howard, c'mon out to L.A. I realize rents are high (as is a good portion of the population), but seriously ..............

Some nitro guys are defensive as they feel threatened by the FE guys. Nitro numbers have been declining while FE is gaining popularity so in some circles they are afraid they are going to get squeezed out. Nothing impresses the nitro and gas guys more than pitching in to help run an event or working the retrieval boat. Make the extra effort and you will gain everyone's respect real quick!!

I've experienced both ends of the spectrum. Some of the fuel guys will do darned near anything to help you be fast, be competitive, be part of the collective hobby. Those type of guys even try to understand our stuff. They put our hobby first and our fuel sources second. They don't know and they know they don't know. So they ask.

Then I've seen fuel guys that treat us like we have the plague and are contaminating "THEIR" water. I have no use for those guys.

Fortunately, I think those that get it out number the morons.

If makes you feel any better I get that too. After 10,000 posts you would think I would have learned to not be a complete tool 100% of the time.
