No aquacraft has reverse. I think proboat do but you have to buy program card and program them to. They don't come with reverse programmed. Not 100% sure tho.
It all depends on what you like best. My favorite is the ul1, but it's not gonna do well in any med or heavy chop.
Personally I prefer aquacraft over proboat. While the aq boats aren't as pretty, they do outperform IMO

My ProBoat Blackjack 29 came programmed with reverse, and included the programmer to alter the ESC settings.

ok so been really thinking of the miss geico v2 29 but i am concerned that if i take it to a lake and its windy or larger sized waves it will flip over or just not be able to handle it as well as say a v hull like a impulse, revolt or a spartan like i said in the first post i have a villain and i like how it drives but its not fast enough and i dont really want to put the money in upgrades because i can use it as a retrieval boat and something for my girlfriend to use . i am basically looking for something faster like around 40 is fine, has electronics that will last and something that i could race occasionally also needs to run on dual 2s. the one complaint i have about looking at the mg2 is the plastic prop
and the same with the spartan

That's cool they include that these days. Been a while since I've owned a pb

One of the pursuit monos from OSE might be the ticket, especially if you want to give racing a try.
Check at the top of the for sale section.
Would require different batteries though. 4s packs.
If my boats upside down then who owns the one I thought I was driving the last two laps?

I have a Villain, and nothing else compares to its rough-water handling. It accelerates quickly and turns on a dime. You can't make it roll or do anything weird unless you put it into a headwind and catch air off a wave at full speed. I run stock motors and props on 2-cell lipo power and an EVX-2 speed controller with 2.4 GHz receiver. Nothing is going to run 40 mph in lake chop anyway, so any amount of speed and/or airtime is alright with me on a Sunday afternoon. :)

SV 27 and many clubs race it as a stock class.

My favorite RTR mono is the Revolt.

PS, Reverse just isn't a good idea on boats with flexshafts-- too much reverse can expand the flex cable and cause serious issues. My son disabled his reverse on the MG.

I think the pursuit is an excellent starter boat, only thing ever need is to put a better cooling jacket on. It's top notch components, fiberglass, aluminum hardware, and for a first boat it corners wicked. Plus like above could race with it.

so i have question for two particular v hull models the revolt 30 and the impulse 31 and which do you guys prefer and why. i want to point some things out that i noticed and see your guys opinions on them. first the revolt seems like it has nice hardwear as far nice adjustable trim tads that are carbon fiber and a break away rudder bolt also it says you can stack to 4s lipos, car you stack two 4s lipos next each other for longer run times? also how do the 1500kv motor in the impulse compare to the 1800kv motor in the revolt as far as heat, speed, durability and most important run time. now the impulse i like the way it looks better than the revolt and there is a lot of wood inside that makes me think its going to be stronger over time also on this can i add more batteries for run time. also if you own one of each what kind of experience do you have with like breaking or performance wise

This is my opinion and my opinion only so take it with a grain of salt…

Pick one the one you’re drawn too and go play. It’s going to be a learning process either way. As your experience increases you will end up drawing you own conclusions.

As I mentioned above, I am an AquaCraft product fan. Regarding the Revolt; yes you can put two (2) 4S batteries wired in parallel for increased run time. HOWEVER, keep in mind that you must reduce your prop size (slower speeds) to take advantage of the additional capacity. Just like cars you will need to properly prop (gear ratio) in your boat to use the extra battery capacity. Take look on http://www.aquacraftmodels.com/boats...0/gallery.html there is some pictures with batteries installed.

I also mentored above that I feel the AquaCraft motor and controller hold a slight advantage in the performance area. More prop = More speed. I would also mention that ANY boat that has wood bits inside the hull should be covered with epoxy to avoid water penetration which leads to rotting and detrition. I could be wrong, but I haven’t heard of many structural issues with the Revolt. Just because the Impulse has a wood structure doesn’t necessarily mean it’s stronger, but I don’t have any experience with the Impulse only the Revolt.

These RTR boats are put into a price point that the average hobbyist can buy one. They are not bullet proof so things are going to happen. In most cases, as long as you using the boat within its intended limits AND you practice proper maintanence you will be fine. That doesn’t me nothing will break. There is a lot of power and many moving parts. Anything can happen.

I am not sure where you’re located in OH, but there is a few boaters/clubs in the South Cleveland area; might be a good idea to check them out before you buy a boat. That is a great way to get your questions answered and see how these types of boats perform.

                            Later,
                            Mike

Just before Christmas I purchased a new Revolt, and just after Christmas I purchased a new Impulse 31(V1). (A PB dealer that advertises on ebay currently has the Impulse 31 V1's on closeout for $249). I now have 3 PB RTR fiberglass boats and 2 AQ RTR fiberglass boats. Here are my thoughts on the Revolt vs the Impulse 31. Right out of the box, initial inspection revealed that my Impulse had some "quality control issues"; none of my other PB or AQ boats had such issues (the motor was significantly misaligned at an absolutely unbelievable angle which actually had deformed the flexshaft, one of the motor mount screw was "glued in place" and could not be loosened so trying to align the motor was not going to happen, the rx was "stuck" in perpetual bind mode regardless of what you did with it, and right rear corner of the canopy had numerous visible hairline cracks). PB product support, though, was great. They sent me a new flexshaft, new rx, new motor mount with all the screws and a new canopy in less than a week ... I sent them photos of how poorly this boat was assembled. Regarding hulls, I think the PB hull "feels" better built ... the AQ hull seems to have more flex. The Revolt has a better battery tray system (even though it is plastic) and offers the option of one 4s mounted dead center low in the hull, right out of the box. The Impulse battery tray is rather primitive (using a threaded rod and wing nut to secure a "squashplate" style top) and only acccomodates a two battery setup without modification. The PB boat canopy has a retention system whereas the AQ canopy relies soley on taping it on. I think the Revolt has nicer "hard parts" hardware (strut, rudder, turn fins and especially the trim tabs). I think the AQ driveline hardware looks "more refined" and has more adjustability. I like the PB electronics better .... the PB esc is programmable, the AQ esc is not, and per many comments on the Revolt forum, the lvc on the AQ esc is too low (2.8V) such that if you don't time your runs, you can ruin your batteries rather "unknowingly". The PB lvc is very obvious, and set to a better voltage (3.0 or 3.2 ... don't remember for sure). I bought an entire PB (Mystic) esc and motor (new) setup as well as a Spektrum tx/rx and I am going to install them in my Revolt (just my personal preference). Both have 60A esc's and 1800kv motors with similar metal props and similar rudder systems right out of the box.

I know, long post, but hopefully the detail will be worth the extra time reading.
                              Bob

Well after reading a bunch of reviews and weighing out the pro and cons I could find on the impulse and the revolt i went to the lhs and and the had the exact revolt model I was looking for silver and white with no controller I felt like I got a good deal so I bought it and surprisingly enough they had a mystic there I thought they were discontinued. So thanks for everyone's help. Would post pic but don't know how
