        It is a good design,UNFORTUNATELY, the quality of build materials leaves a lot to be desired. Not sure yet if the builder of these is able to "up his game".

          Not at all, it is perfect for modern 8S power. There are a number of 40-45" FE boats racing in gas classes. That power levels the playing field with gas; most gas guys don't want to race against FEs that can dominate them. 8S is still plenty of power to win.

          For FE racing, which is really why I build these, I prefer 10S due to the lower amp draw and higher speed potential.
