I used the HK carbon fiber, the 6 oz cloth I think it is.

I ripped out the trays and just put in some velcro but, I'm going to add a 1/16" thick plywood tray to the bottom of the sponsons with good epoxy. Lets see, I have some in the archives...

For the P-Ltd classes, you'll want this boat to be as light as possible. Frankly, it's a race boat, and is going to take some abuse, so you want to reinforce where NEEDED, and leave light where you don't. Ray's boat looks great for something that will run a Neu 1515 or similar, but is probably way overkill for P-Limited (as he aknowledged)...

I would reinforce the outside edges, and maybe put a light carbon onto the top of the tunnel. The 2-Part foam will take care of the forward deck and sponsons, just be really careful because if you use too much, you'll obviously have issues. Even using the right amount, be careful when it's hot outside. If it's warm, and you put ANY pressure on the areas where the foam is, it'll suck in the glass and deform that direction. Ask me how I know. :)

On my P-Limited hull, I only put 2-part foam on top of the factory floatation, just enough to support the deck and keep it from compressiong in a flip. Obviously, you'll want to reinforce the hatch cover. I'm working on addressing that issue, but it is what it is, and luckly, they aren't super expensive. A quick layer of 4oz or similar will fix the problem...

This sucks but you're stuck with some manual labor instead of huge costs to replace electronics and such. Anyway this boat will be stronger and better off in the long run when all is finished, remember that and you'll take pride in your finished boat. I'm sure this boat will run great soon.
