    Pissed and need to vent

First off let me state I am real picky about my boats and maintain and repair them meticulously. After a race I open them up to let them dry out, treat the motors and all the servo contacts with and everything with corrosion x Ect Ect Ect.

Bought a boat to race this year but didn't want a big project. Pictures showed it needed some cleaning which I thought was just grease from the flex. Sure should have asked a lot more questions before buying. I just got done taking it apart and what I thought was grease and oil is actually black mold. It is on almost every wooden part on the inside of the boat. It is all on me I don't fault the seller I should have asked a bunch more questions. Sure would not have bought it had I known.
thank you for letting me vent
    Just pretty pissed right now
    Jim

If you bought it from someone here, post their name in the feedback section of the swap shop.

Sorry to hear, that's a royal PITA that one. You need to be careful with advise and second hard parts I've found.....

I recently took the advise of a forum member on here, a very well respected one as it happens, ended up buying 70bux worth of parts that do not fit my boat and now have had to gut it and start again or be $70 out of pocket, I cannot afford this loss as I have chronic back issues and live on the disability pension. (I know its only $70, but I went without food for a day and a half to help cover it). I cant begin to describe how much that pisses me off (came so so so close to selling everything and walking away from the hobby), but what can you do. Today I will bend a new stuffing tube and start building again..........

Bleach is your friend man. light brushing with some bleach and it will be good as new!
Obviously u will want to dilute it slightly and wear some gloves etc.

                        That screams out...

                        REBUILD

I guess there was no way to know and I think pretty much anyone would of made the same guess. I cant say Ive seen mold in any of my boats. Im not as meticulous as Jim here, but I blow the water out the cooling system and grease the flex after Im done running. If any water in the hull I take care of it asap.

Wow!!! How in the world can you box something like that up and send it to someone??

Be careful with the mold Jim. Some of that stuff can be pretty harmful.

I'd just year all the wood out and use an etti motor mount.

Thinking I am goign to fill it full of water and bleach about 1/2 full and let it sit for an hour or two then let it dry out and rip the insides to shreads
