    Chrome BOAT!?

Well guys chrome wrapping film has officially hit the market here in the states.

I am planning to do some testing with some material soon but I already know it works the way it is suppose to.
I am also going to do some testing with printing on the material and if all goes well I can have printed images on the chrome film to give it a candy look to it.
Pretty amazing stuff possibilities are endless.

Stay tuned I will post updates here once I get some in hand to try out.
Another great thing about it is it isn't to expensive comes out to be approximately $10 per square foot.

Normal chrome vinyl will not "conform" to curves, recesses or contours but this stuff I posted will with no problem with a bit of heat and patience.

Here is 1 place that sells some Avery which is what I posted the videos but 3M also makes a similar product both come in 48" wide x infinite length.

There are also a number of other unique wrapping films that have come out recently.
(These ones are meant for flat or slight curved surfaces NOT meant for compound curves)
So not really meant for a full wrap but can do partial wraps and or lettering and striping.
These are about $3-5 a square foot but have to purchase 1yrdx60" piece which is approximately $45
      Such as:
Iridescent Fuschia-Green, Blue-Green (similar to chameleon paint)
      Gold carbon fiber
      Red carbon fiber
      Blue carbon fiber
      White carbon fiber
      Black leather (textured)
      Brushed black
and a few other misc types.
      Beige Ostrich (texture)
      Black Mamba (snake skin texture)

Lots of ideas in my head just need some time to get them out!

I know 1 thing for sure a completely wrapped boat with chrome would be hard as hell to see on the water but then again guys you are racing couldn't even see you!
          Water Camo....

If someone were to wrap an eco hull it would look like flight of the navigator.

That would mean we would be looking at $50 for the material I would need to wrap the entire boat.

I like the theme you already had in mind!

I think it would look really cool to do cowls/sponsons for tunnel boats or hydros in the chrome and then have the sponsons/cowls and decking in vibrant bright colors so you could see it easily and still have the neat/flashy look of the chrome.

                    Guy makes it look easy.
Is there some time window to use it?
Looks like it can be easily peeled off to work with, but I assume after some time it becomes more difficult to remove?
Jeff are you familiar with Alsa corp? They got some cool stuff...

Yes I've seen Alsa corp stuff before they do have some neat stuff.
There is lots of great products coming onto the market.

The chrome wrap film is meant to be able to be removed up to around 3-5yrs like other wrap films.
heat removal and should come off clean.

It is not as easy as the videos make it look.
It takes a lot of time and patience to do a clean install not only with the chrome but any wrap film.
It can be done by someone who has never done it before but most likely would be a few issues or mistakes the first time someone tried to work with it.
It's very similar to the material I make my decals and wraps on.
The heat it what makes it conform and stretch.

I use this stuff often, actaully deal HEXIS who sells stuff like this, i find better then Avery or 3M actually.
done a couple WHOLE cars in chrome. ill grab some photos once I get on my work computer.
I have even printed on it, and you can get really neat colors once you print on the chrome and give it a metallic over laminate!
                        love the stuff
