H&M Xzess III vs Tobsd Poseidon

Anyone here with some comparative experience between the well-known Xzess III and the http://tobsd.com/ViewDetails.aspx?ProductID=180 ?
Would a theoretical 40k rpm range be the target for setting up a fast rigger like these? Thinking of 1900kv off 6S through a 180A ESC...

I own the H&M Mr. Krabbs. It's construction and quality is amazing. Have you ordered from the other company you mentioned? I went to the bottom of their site and the disclosure on the taxes, and all the miscellaneous additional costs looks scary. I would be interested in other people's experience in orders placed in Hong Kong. Let me know if you have some build questions. I actually found dozens of photos from Germany of the complete layout and build for the H&M with all the dimensions on the photos in metric. I would have been lost without the build sheets. Just trying to help.

    Happy New Year,
    Allen

I have a Tobsd Poseidon sitting in the cupboard. Im only new to boats so I have no experience with riggers.
Overall quality doesnt seem too bad but the sponsens deffinately need to be fixed to the booms in a better way than they come from the factory.

In the US we dont have to worry about any import taxes since this is considered a "toy".

I have ordered one small item from TOBSD and he was very tentative to the transaction even though it was only $16. His prices on like items found on other china hobby sites is rather high, BUT he does include shipping... So if you do comparative shop make sure your comparing apples to apples.

I just did a bit of a story on this over on R/C groups and then I came over here to OSE & saw this Thread.
It may or may not help you a bit.

          All the best.

Hey guys, thanks for the information about ordering from overseas. I will have to give it a try. Can you guys consider adding your builds and photos to the forum link dedicated to the build process so we all can follow your progress.
            Thanks, Allen

Thanks for the replies guys, it seems the Poseidon is a bit fragile and would need a bit of work to toughen her up a bit. For the price and with all hardware installed, it looks like a good buy anyway. I don't have enough skill to build all the hardware onto a bare hull myself, that is why I looked at the Poseidon. I know the Xzess is better quality and the RTR hardware of the Poseidon is not the best out there, but I just needed a good-looking rigger for a couple of runs +70mph. I'll just have to decide on what motor, ESc and prop to strap on, strengthen the hull a bit and go...

Thanks for the link to your build thread 785boats
Looks great and I will definately be using it as the base for my build which I hope to start in a month or two.
Do you have any videos of it running and what do you estimate the speed to be.

                    Hi Robbo.
                    No Vids yet.
With our restricted class set up (1500kv motor & 45A ESC) it's only doing low to mid 40's mph.

I got FECalc up and running. Will post my proposed set-up for a hopeful 70mph run soon... Would like to use 2200kv-2500kv motor on 5S. Don't know if 6S will fit in the hull...?

Will try a Leopard 3674 2200kv on 5S through a 180A ESC with a X642 prop. Will a 40mm dia motor with jacket fit in the hull? If so, I would like to use Leopard 4074 2200kv motor.

With a 6S lipo in there, a 74mm long motor can won't fit. With a 5S lipo a 74mm long can can be used. Pity....
