I'm on another forum that requires 60 days AND 60 posts before you can even VIEW the for sale/wtb forum. Like Ray I have probably missed out on some deals because something didn't seem right. I also try to do some research on the seller before buying anything. So far I've been cautious/lucky but I know it's just a matter of time. I have a ton of stuff I'd like to sell but just don't need the hassle.

He responded by email. Saying that I didnt respond to the paypal claim. I do admit I didn't respond instantly. He gave me 2 days before making a full blown claim. I then clicked the paypal option to refund the cost of the item as long as he returned it to me. I will never do that again.

It also doesn't make it right to swap my good motor for his junk motor. Here are the pictures of what he returned.

I would print a copy of his add for your defense.

This DOES qualify as mail fraud since he is using the USPS to commit the fraud.

You guys on the ground in U.S , would be aware of the legal proceedings in this case . There would be over 500 guys on this forum that personally have dealt with you Steve , and OSE.COM , that would vouch for your character , and business dealings mate .

Just plain lowlife! These scammers probably realize that the average person will probably not pursue them legally especially if the dollar value is not worth the perceived hassle. Steve has some solid evidence to present to paypal though. Hopefully he can get a favorable resolution.

I don't get it, I thought PayPal was supposed to protect everyone. Sad that PayPal would not give priority to a business with a history over a but hole that has probably done this before. Hope you win the fight Steve, you have done everything as promised to me on my first ever boat build and first dealings with you and your company.

Ebay owns Paypal and is proud of their 'Buyer' protection program. I sold a new shortwave radio 'as-is' because it was under manufacturers warranty. Buyer had remorse, said it didn't work right and Paypal had him return it to me after refunding him the cost and shipping - taken from MY account! Turns out he tampered with a tuner (seal was torn) so that it wouldn't work. I told Paypal/sent pics, and they credited me as well. They don't want to deal with who is right/wrong or telling the truth - they just want happy customers.
