You could run the 3674 on the 120. You would need to upgrade esc if using the 4074

Do you happen to have a educated guess on about how many amps the 2200kv 3674 pulls?

                    I am using the 4074 2200kv Timing at 15 with a T120a esc with 3 more 35v 1000uf caps with a x646/3 prop,
In a modded to FE 36"PB Shockwave mono and all stays cool on 4s2p a 42 mph.

I thought your setup was 3s until I read further down. Generally guys limit 4s "sport" setups to 2200kv, and reccomend a 200A+ ESC for doing so. I would also reccomend a larger can and lower kv, but no matter how you do it, your ESC will limit your potential power.

OK, so now you know you had a small motor with high kv, but moving on, the 3674 2200kv on 4s is a huge upgrade especially if you get a 4 poler like a Leopard. You can run the T120a ESC with that setup all day long if you keep the prop at an x442 or less. I ran it in a Mono and your cat will pull less amps. To answer your ballpark figure, I think the setup i mentioned above will pull around 90-100 amps with an x442.................so you will be putting out around 1400 watts, or 2 hp...........big power for that hull! It'll get you over 50 mph. The 4074 is even more overkill and will not yield much more speed.

If you do go with the 3674 2200kv Leopard or Turnigy, be sure to drop the timing on the ESC to 1-3 degrees. They are D wind motor & don't like a lot of timing. 15 degrees will not do it any good at all.
                            All the best.
