You are going to need 2 holes in the side mounts to hold the shaft angle and thrust, we don't want it to look like this

Those aren't Proteus motors. I think they are a 6 pole Chinese motor, the Proteus are 4 pole.

I will state this again if you want to run large FE boats at some of the speeds desired you will need a lot of experince and deep pockets of cash.

I have run that motor in a 53" 22lb cat on 8S 6000 mah (1100kv) and it is plenty fast and efficient, 50mph and 3-1/2 minutes runtime (full race speed) on 6000mah the lower Kv on the higher cell count will be even better. I would put the motors on the tunnel and have the shafts come out closer to the center of the boat rather than thru the sponsons put the cells in the sponsons.

For some reason I thought Tom was going for 100mph with this boat...I could be mistaken though.

I am putting the motors on the tunnel with props close and batteries in the sponsons, Chris said they got 90 mph on one motor and a 10s pack in a 60" deep vee,I do not know what the speed will be, I do hope it goes fast. this is 12s packs with a 820 kv 5000 mah and x457 props for starters, you guys will probably have a better idea on the speed I should get.so far the castle hydra ice 200hv esc's are what im going with but have not bought them yet.would be very disappointed with 55mph.not so worried about run time I am just trying to give the customer what he is asking for and no go crazy on price.

ok made the carbon fiber motor mount plates, I still need to drill the motor mount bolt access holes and mount them in place, then I will install the drive line and rudder servo mount, I am useing a HS-7954sh servo with 402 oz for steering.we are at around 2500.00 spent so far, we have esc,s to get.and connectors, along with some little parts, and i will make battery trays. there will be some labor cost as well, but all in all this is a big boat and 1100.00 of that number is 4 battery packs, so to me the cost is pretty normal for a big boat. not really out of line at all.
