    42" Cat Maritimo Questions

    I have a few questions..

    1. What type of Lube is the best for the Flex Shaft?

    2. How often should I lube the shaft?

    3. I need a New flex shaft.. To much power and spun the last one.. So where do I find one of those and what measurements do I need to take?

    4. I need a Dual water pickup because the temps I feel are to high.. I need a single 4.5" dual water rudder pickup. Also where do I get one?

    5. I also need the brass or copper little insert that gets glued into the boat, basically the part that connects to the hose from the rudder.. I need 2 of those and need to drill 2 more holes. I will post some pics.

    6. Plastic insert where pic is takin, between motor and flexshaft tube.. Can that be replaced

Currently I am running 1-8300 MAH at 6s, with Hydra Ice 2 HV200, Motor is unknown.. But I do have 2 batterys in the boat to stabilze it..I should be able to get 60mph all day with the setup I have. I bought the setup without a ESC and battery, the seller said he ran 6s before but not sure.. I plan on setting this up with 6s and getting it to run great and then switching to 12s system and run 80-100mph.. I will get some videos, these batterys are so heavy its crazy and expensive..

Anything else I should be careful of? or helpful tips, first time boater but I have rc airplanes, but they are gas, not electric.

I have a similar hull but running a twin set up and I hit 72 with 5 min run times my temps are around 130 according to the castle data log. I lube my drives after each day at the pond or every 4 runs which ever comes first. I use amsoil grease with no issues. your flex shaft gap my not have been set right or the cable may have been corroded also but can buy one here on OSE. My build thread. http://forums.offshoreelectrics.com/...rine-Drifter-L also at those speeds you will need to reinforce the hull mine has survived two 75 plus blow overs.

A twin setup, NICE!! What type of amsoil grease? what is the type of lube? Yah the flex shaft, was wore before I got it. Not a big deal, I will get a new one.. What do you mean reinforce the hull? where do I reinforce it and what do I reinforce with? again I am new. Thanks for your help..

DO you run dual water pickups as well?

http://www.amsoil.com/storefront/gwr.aspx you will need to gut the hull, sand, and clean it very good then line it with carbon/Kevlar most people just do the back but I did my whole boat from top to bottom it took me two days.

looks like a kb-45 motor. that would explain the high temps. Single rudder pickup should be plenty. What kv is it?
I have a twin drive Maritimo that runs in the 80's. Added a small air-dam in the front of the tunnel to keep her planted a bit better at high speed.
