Zippkits released their JAE outboard rigger. With a hyperformance 3.5cc outboard, it should be extremely fast. It is generally agreed that outriggers are the fastest on the water. However tunnel hulls are very fast if set up correctly. A PS295 with UL1 motor and REK leg will give impressive results. A popular choice for mono's is the proboat Shockwave. I had a brushless and a brushed. I actually prefered the brushed one because the brushless motor kept freezing up with me. Mono hulls are considered the slowest of these however.

I have all types of hulls, you can't really compare them at all, different boats for different water conditions, I can run a mono in wind and wave conditions that beach my hydros and tunnel hulls. I have a couple of cats and yes they are fun but I prefer a mono hull when things get too rough for the other boats.
In flat water I'll run my hydro and tunnel hulls over a mono hull. All depends, I usually take a number of boats to the pond.
What kind of water do you usually run in? That should make the biggest difference, no fun having a boat you can't run most of the time due to the water conditions.
If my boats upside down then who owns the one I thought I was driving the last two laps?

High quality (but very pricey) mono option is the Toysport Syncron (29") or Toysport Triton (31"). I have one of each... they are built like tanks. Plus they come equipped with flood chambers.
OSE offers both of these special order.

Will a FE 30 handle 70 mph? I have a real purty yellow one I'm dying to build, I've seen them at sixty and thought that was close to the ragged edge. I would think a hull slightly larger then 30" would be more desirable for that kind of speed. Propperchopper should be able to definitively say one way or the other.

Hitting 70 is never an easy task, but I believe a very well setup fe30 will hit 70 without being all over the place. Not sure tho

Chad, as has been mentioned, a properly rigged FE30 will get you to seventy. I hope you realize that at that speed the slightest bobble on the wheel or bump in the water will create some (semi-amusing) flight patterns. The good news is that the FE30, when correctly constructed will walk away from most of these extravaganzas unscathed (and I know of two such kerfluffles ; full-tilt bank impalements) where there was nary a scratch. I know of no other hulls that can do that, btw.

My P-Sport rigged FE30 in heat-race trim did 68.++ mph . [more speed is available if you want, but ...]

I have been running my FE30 on 6S for a while now and it will touch 70, for sport running it runs cooler and gets a little more run time..BUT i dont run it if conditions arent near close to perfect & have had a bit of experience with it. 4082 1600KV M645 or H7 with a strut adjustment.

If you want to hit 70, get an ml boatworks ps295. Set it up with a p-spec motor and you can race with it. Tunnel hulls are the most rewarding boats in my opinion if set up correctly and run in flat water.
