That whole "kids still in school" thing, because there's no way John and I can go to Nationals without Kylie at this point.

It would suck to not make a race that's so close to home. If we can't make the FE nats next year, well there's always another race.
I personally wanted to make it like mid July, or August some time.
These things will be taken into consideration. I'd hate for kylie not to continue her reign of terror.
The convenience of having it within the west region shouldn't be steifelled by dates. We will try our best to set a date that accomidates most every driver..

          Nat's. Dates

Not commiting to another west coast race 2 years in a row, yet.
But we will certainly talk about it.
I did want to chime in with Brian's thoughts on the Dates.
My opinion has alaways been that the overall attendance is very fragile at
these Nats. Frankly 19 racers like the last Saramento Nat's is a no go for me.
Too much investment if the race is that small.
I heard from Mike Pags as well he has a daughter in school at that time too.
Honestly all of our family stuff should be first, racing should come after life
events that you cannot do over. So the school date thing should be considered.
Not to tell anyone what to do, but we thoroughly canvased our dates on the
forums before scheduling the 2011 Nats. It is more effort, but should help the
attendance. As for the Wave Blaster Team , Jason and I, the dates next summer
really do not matter. But please knock down some of the obstacles for the other
guys. It was great have the Northwest guys at this past race. We have missed
all of them in the recent years.
Just my 2 cents, If nothing else I can get I told you so rights.....lol
Hope the event turns out to be one of the best ever,

            Great to hear some excitement.

Honestly folks, if you can pull off a trip to a nationals you owe it to yourself to get there. The atmosphere at a large all FE event like this is fantastic. The competition is stellar but the racers aren't all up tight about it. These guys that do this stuff are actually fun to be around. You can't have a better time with your boats.

Terry could not have said that any better.
He is totally right.....hope some of you that have thought about attending in the past
would really give it some serious consideration next year and in the future.
These forums really cannot compare to the real thing.
Also hope to see everyone that has participated in the Nat's over the past many years.

We would be honored to host you Michiganders, from what I recall you guys laid down an Impressive nats. Great drivers, innovative boats, let's mix it in! Where's that Nayman guy anyway, we need his DEEP voice in the pits. Load up the truck and chuck on out here! Bring Howard Tucker, bring my N-1 buddies, Come on out guys! Stick your antennas in there and stir up some fun racin'!

That would be INCREDIBLE if this was a nats that EVERYBODY came to! The New York/jersey drivers, Florida anglers, Michigan guys, Wisconsin, Colorado, LA, Pac-NW, all of us man! Start sharpenin' up yer knives and forks, its ANYONE'S title..

That's why I'm gettin' you guys all excited early. Caravan, bunk up, sacrafice, beg, scrape, and borrow just get out here and show the world what its all about!

A point I want to bring up is.. We're the SMALLEST faction in RC. I want to publicize this race. We need some spectators man! Let's share our passion!!
We are well known for having no more than participants watching us and thats sad, I mean honestly! What we're doing is amazing and folks wanna' see it, they just don't know about it. I enjoy watching ours more than full scale racing think about that..

Guys, just brainstorming, but I have a concept. I want to offer as many classes as possible in signups, actually every NAMBA legal class, PLUS the 5 successful exhibition classes (SV27 stock and mod, Crackerbox, Pltd cat, and Skiff).
What gets enough entries awaits to be seen, but I think offering the slower, less contested classes on day 1 and 2 allows guys who came to REALLY get down the option to cut their expenses a day or so if they don't want to dabble in the exhibition/slower stuff.
I like progressive races where guys can start out with slower stuff and build their skill up into the faster stuff throughout the week of race camp..
Ever notice you start driving better after a coupla' days in?

I've seen this pattern reduce carnage : )
