    Insane FE 30 Engine Recomendations

Hi Guys Setting up my first electric boat, ( Insane FE 30 Sport Hydro ) and was just wondering which motor would be better Leopard 4074 or Leopard 4082 running a Turnigy 180 Amp ESC.

    Thanks in Advance.

    Tony,

A 4074 motor in the 2200KV range on 4S will get you to the sixties. The 4082 is more than you'll need. The T-180 will work well with the 4074 motor. If you need any build/setup info, e-mail me at [email protected]

Here's one I did a few weeks ago with a spec motor ; used a .187 cable so a P motor could be dropped in later :

Hi abmarine Tony is awesome he has built me personally 3 insane boats and his building is top flight, I 2 fe30's one setup for spec raceing and 1 for sport racing and they run great, the 4074 is a good motor I have used it myself in this boat and as Tony says it will get you into the 60's.
These boats are fun with a capital F, have fun with it and follow Tonys advice you won't go wrong.

                    .187" (3/16") flex for 4074 motor. A 1/4" is way to big.

I think OSE also do a Leopard 4074 T180 Package with the bullets installed for you.

                              Tony,

A pair of 4S 4000 mah packs just fit under the deck. They'll give enough juice to make a mill + 6-lap race with plenty left over and the extra weight helps. I started out using the Turnigy 4S 4000's but have switched to the Dinogyshttp://performancerclipos.com/page8.php?view=productPage&product=4&category=. A few dollars more, but better batteries ('tho HK has an AU wherehouse).
