It's more of a scale bottom boat (no ride pads) so it spins out and flips easily in the turns at low speed. This is the first time I flipped it at speed/going straight though, and it's probably due to the fact that I was running that fast w/o waiting for my wake to dissapate.

Thanks for the compliment on the build.

How is the Fantasm doing? Big numbers yet? I really like the size of that hull.

I sold it to someone that wanted a build when I didn't have the time. I do think that hull is definitely capable of big numbers though. I had plans to do another with twin 4082/980kv on 12s to turn some heads, but that project fell at the feet of the new Mystic project.
I do have an interesting Cheetah build to do though, if I ever make the time. It should be capable of some decent speed but I have a feeling that hull will need some aerodynamic work to keep it on the water at high speed.

Here's the inside of the boat, by the way (I'm running different ESCs and motors now, but pretty much the same physical size). I don't put quite as much time into my personal builds when compared to hired builds. This one was put together in a couple spare nights.

Not sure what i like more the sound of a twin accelerating or decelerating when it gets that warble sound to it.
I know what you mean. The distance it covers after you let off the throttle is almost more impressive than the distance it covers under power. I forgot to put a parachute on it!

I'm reading class guidlines and it would appear that this cat would belong in the S-Offshore category, where the current record is 82.698.
                  Maybe I'm missing something?

Not saying you could not beat the current record but a momentary top speed is going to be higher than a sustained speed over a given distance.
Yes, its a speed "trap", the same way its done in drag racing (the same way GPS works to a degree). They are also on a larger lake. I'm confident I could get over 100mph there.
