FE Experts.

Built a FE Tunnel out of a woodstuff hull. OS bottom end Aquacraft motor and swordfish esc. After running a FE IMPBA race (6 laps) the batteries 2 7.4 lipo's and wires are very hot. Any idea's would be helpful. Tried a few different props.

You'd be surprised of the amps pulled with outboards. any idea where you are? What size connectors are you using?

Batteries are 4200's and attach with deans. Connectors on the motor are the stock bullets.
I run the same batteries and connectors in my UL-1. The UL-1 flies around the course and everything is very cool.
Also on the tunnel, I run two water pickups: one for the motor and one for the esc, both working. Also an oiler on the lower unit.

I would definitely change out the deans. Since the outboard puts the prop further back it's going to be in the water more and will cause the amps to be higher. What props are you using? What C rating are the lipo's?

30C x440 3 blade is one I tried.

How much did you put back into the lipos?

I will have to check. Raced three heats with 3 sets of batteries and have not recharged them yet. tried smaller and two blade props with no real difference.

Yup...tunnels seem to be Amp hogs........change over to 5.5mm bullets.
