Specs on 16s 200a fightercat esc

A discontinued esc, and was replaced with a 24s. So far, their site, and forums have been useless to me, (and yes, I am a member).
Anyone got the specs? max amps? bursts? duration?

programming instructions using the program box:

ESC Programming using the Program Box.doc

burst is approx. 400 for 10sec.
    max sustained amps 200-220 continuous.
    DURATION?
    anything else ya need?

    001.jpg003.jpg
shown with and without the extra caps installed.

also a good thing to do is add a cap bank whether it is your own or a manufacturers.
helps keep the caps nice and cool.

Thankz Carl ! I was hoping you would chime in. Bought one of these here on the forum, (unused). Came with a cap bank, and USB adapter. I'm thinking of picking up the programing box, but
if I have to program my DXS3 transmitter anyway, doesn't that make it kinda moot? I am predicting my current build to be rather an amp hog, (Leo 4092 2080kv in a 13lb Titan40 on 4s, maybe5s???).
If I were to use my Panther 225 prop, or similar, I would really be pushing my amp headroom no??? Maybe I worry too much?? I have an extremely good water system, and an isolated bec circuit btw.
DURATION? well, you answered that with, "10sec."
"anything else ya need?", well, um, yes! The Fightercat site has my user name, password, confirmation, real name, e-mail, home address, pay-pal info, next of kin, AND YET, i still can't log on to their
forums! Browser? cookies? WHAT??? I may be willing to trade both these puppies for an 8s 300amp esc there.

          Runz;
go ahead and re-register again and I will check on it when I get the request. ok?

Make; what motor, timimg, wind prop did you have in it please?

That is strange for one of those to pop fire like that. I need to know EVERYTHING (info wise) for programming the esc in there.
          thanks
this way we should be able to figure out what exactly caused the out break.

Leopard 5698 3d, 1100kv on 8s2p with an x452 default timing of 0 since I dont know how to change it, should have been fine with a D wind motor. Heck, it was just under soft acceleration at the time. This is the second ESC from FC that has fried. The first one at least got on plane for 3 passes. This is the replacement for it even though i was supposed to get a 300a 8s like I had, somehow I guess I got whatever was layin around............really a messed up deal from the get go, and I shouldnt have accepted it. If I had an issue with a Ford Explorer I wouldnt want them to give me a Taurus as a replacement....................

I am blown away by the issues with these ESC's. It literally went about 30 feet at most, then blew the canopy off and I had to go swim for it, which I know I shouldnt have done but it wasnt that far away at all. Got to it and dunked it under and held it there til I got back to the shore.

My signature has only about 1/4 of my fleet and I know how to set up boats, I'm not the problem. I have nothing to show for the money I spent with FC except a charred mass of garbage, two fried recievers, a blackened stinky hull, and the "new car smell" of my New Ford Explorer has been replaced with essence of fried ESC.................I'm NOT a happy camper and I expect FC to re-imburse me all the $$ i spent with him and asked him so in an email.

you did not try to program the esc at all? Just to me, it sounds like you did not try to program the esc. ( I could be wrong)(just by the portion of the first sentence starting with the word "default". It is VERY important to program these esc's as they are not a plug and play (so to speak) type of ESC.

here is an important notice from one of the FC esc's on the store site: IMPORTANT: Timing must be set prior to test/use. It is crucial that a motor requiring 30 degree of timing not be run at zero. Failure to properly set timing prior to use will result in a permanently damaged ESC. Run a minimum of 5 degrees timing with 4 pole motors.

The ESC came with no instructions, I had to download a PDF file he sent me and there are no intsructions on it how to adjust timing, and also no warnings of any kind about it. Regardless, you think it would explode in about a half of a second with timing set low where D winds like them?

                      It came with nothing.........................

I had to print this out from a file sent to me.

I dont see anywhere in these instructions that tells me it has to be programmed at all.

Nor does it say that it needs to be set at any degree of timing.

Nor does it say that its not "plug and play"

Nor does it say that failure to run it at 5* for a 4 pole motor will result in the ESC exploding.

                          just one more thing,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

from the top right of the first page starting with BEFORE YOU GET STARTED.......................

Before you get started, read all instructions and ask questions when needed. A perfectly good ESC can be turned into a gooey mess if not properly installed and configured.

Failure to follow the directions for programming may result in injury to yourself and damage to the ESC itself. Thank you for providing that information.

Exactly!! Now, if you follow them It talks about calculating amp load............understanding ratings....................blah blah

Where does it say to program it................OR HOW TO.............I didnt get a programming box........heck I didnt even get instructions until I asked for them!!!!!!!!!!

So.............the next logical step is to look at the defaults and they were all fine............auto detect cells, throttle curve linear, cutoff 3.0v per cell, everything that could be programmed was fine where it was to me.

Remember.............there is NO mention of a 4 pole having to be at 5* or more......go ahead, check the instructions.

When I buy a cheap-a$$ ESC from Hobbyking it comes with instructions...................or tells you it needs a box...................something!

I have used Castle HV's, SF240's etc....................they all came with instructions or gave you options for manual settings if a box was not necessary.

and dont forget the part about FC replacing the faulty BEC model which was a 300a 8s, with a discontinued 16s 200a...............that right there says alot about the FC integrity. I have copies of all the emails where he gives a lame reason why he did it...................something about making it less confusing..........??? The only confusion is which ESC i was sent.

No, actually Ben, i would have preferred the 8s 300a I paid for.............and instructions or a box.

This is on the home page. Note* Every ESC is load tested as well as default programmed.

This double assures MOSFETs are not defective and MCU logic functions correctly.

Personally i cant see running 0 deg timing killing a esc in 30 feet thats just stupid. Hopefully the first esc going pop did not damage your motor and kill the 2nd esc.
