I think you have answered your own question.
This style 10awg has fewer& larger strands than the HIGH CURRENT cables. ...... Which have lower tesistance and higher cable density by cross section.

I would also go to 6.5 bullets as min. I run 8mm on 4s to10s set ups and they come in at 125f even on 4s limited motors.

How about bus bar adapters? I am trying to figure how to make my adapters out of some silver/copper bus bar matterial. I also have some plain copper bus bars. I may be working on over kill but it is something to think about.

If you are changing all connectors to bullets, you don't need adapters....

Sorry, didn't make myself clear. I still need to make a series style of harness to connect two packs in series. Perhaps I shouldn't have said adapter my bad.

Dave, I'd stick with 6-8mm bullets. After multiple silversolder meltdown with smaller bullets, I switched all of my batteries - from 2S to 10S - over to 8mm bullet connectors, 8mm bullets for =>5692 motors, 6mm bullets for everything smaller. No more meltdowns, plus uniformity of bullets makes working on, or connecting different ESCs, batts & motors simple.

You don't really need to build custom bussbar connectors. It only makes connecting things up more difficult and wastes your time. At our age, we don't have a lot of time to waste. JIM

No you don't....pos of one battery to the neg of the other battery, remaining ends to the respective connector on the controller. Done.

in answer to your question, you only need 3 connectors for you 2S2P configuration to make 4S1P to esc.

The HK 8mm plugs are able to take AWG6.. be wary small cables with lots&lots of solder needed to fit these plugs... bad for business end of current flow... solder is the 'glue' that binds. not the medium to transfer power.
True, the plugs can handle enormous power, but the solder you use cannot.

If you're melting silver soldered plugs, Id first consider the soldering at fault, not the plugs. !

Gold plugs are the ultimate in connector/conductor.
Just because ours are shiny & like gold, doesnt make it Au ( that'd be Au=gold, not Au=Australia ! ) !
Imagine that... $5US for a 5set of 5.5mm plugs from OSE when gold is $70 that weight !

Thanks Doc. I only use very fine guage silversolder on the wires. Use standard (cheaper) 1/8" resin core electrical solder to fill up the bullet cup, then a micro torch to join them together. I use a flap wheel to remove any excess solder "spooge".

I'll let you know if there were any issues after torturing my 2S/4S & 5S LIPOs at the FE Nationals next week. Nothing like competive racing to find & fix equipment problems.
