I took the Daytona for a spin today. I dropped the strut down about 3mm. That lifted the sponsons about 1 or 2mm off the table. I wanted to see if having the strut up too high was causing my boat to run wet. I also moved the COG back to 9-1/8".
Well lowering the strut definitely lifted the rear. I'm not sure it's got the boat aired out any better. It still doesn't look like vids of the nicely tuned cats that look like they are balanced on only the prop as they fly. The handling is much more skittish in this trim. Any disturbance and she wants to start bouncing from sponson to sponson. I think I'll raise the strut halfway back to where it was. Maybe move the COG back further?
I may try a larger, lower pitch prop as well.
