        Okay so here's my setup.....
        DSC02777.jpgDSC02778.jpgDSC02779.jpgDSC02780.jpgDSC02781.jpg
The ESC will mount to the left of the motor. the ESC power leads will go behind the motor and connect to a + and - 'Y' solder joint the each set of power leads will go to each cap bank and then to the batts. There will be a spark arrestor on each cap bank. I prolly only need one spark arrestor but I'll have two

Designed for 4s2P but should handle up to 5S2P very well. One of the guys at our lake is running 6S on a 2200 leo and it seems fine never really gets hot. I don't typically enjoy electrical fires so I'll stay away from 6S

You aren't going to need spark supressors at that voltage, at all.

I always thought it was the cap banks charging up that caused the spark, no?

I seem to get a good spark on my 5S setup now. Just enough to damge the bullets after a serveral runs

Like you, I was into nitro & gas boats before discovering the joy of FE. If you have any good gassers lying around, they make great FE conversions. Stronger than the average built for FE boats, and have a ton of room to stuff electronics in. JIM

Anything >4S you are going to need a anti-spark. You are right about charging up the caps - thats what causes the bullet burning arc in the first place. On my 10S setups, one try at hooking up LIPOs without an anti-spark will melt 8mm bullets in a heartbeat. JIM

speaking of sparking bullets, one of our club members at our bug district race here this past weekend was in a rush, unhooked
his hyperion 4S (cant remember what mah rating) set them down next to the charger, did the same with the other pack that was just charged,
was getting ready to plug in drained batteries, (remember he was in a rush and not paying attention) and accidentlly plugged 1 neg bat. lead into the other packs pos. lead and visa versa........................ the heat shrink survived nicely BUT, the bullets COMPLETELY VAPORISED in an instant SUPER FLASH and his hand turn very black.
he is fine but the bullets went to LiPo heaven.

just had to share this little misshap while you were talking about sparks,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, didnt mean to h-jack the thread guys.
