Yes I do. The last time I attended the only FE classes were LSH and P Mono. I believe you have added spec rigger since then. I would really like to run P Hydro if there are enough entries.

I wonder if Brian even knows his boats are illegal now. He'll be super thrilled too. I'm just an electric tool and have built 4 of them. How many nitro hulls are out there? Yikes.

Intentional or not, it clearly favors certain manufacturers and renders a lot of racers' boats obsolete. Is there not a grandfather stipulation which would allow the newly-illegal hulls to race for at least a year? If not that's unconscionable.

No P Hydro at this time Keith. N-Mono, P Mono, P Limited Sport Hydro, Hydro, and O/B Tunnel. The motor esc rules are on the IMPBA D13 forum.

Relax fellas, this will be sorted out. The sky is not falling.

hehe Doug but there is a hole it in it. It must be falling.

Was there an outbreak of riggers showing up in sport hydro? Seems that was the focus of the trial rules. Always curious what the mind set is on these type of things.

i was going to sign up again this season for the impba-------but not now-------lots of money spent for boating-------are you legal this, are you legal that ! two many rules to worry about and too many boats that are OEM built that will not pass somebody's rules. it's a bad sign for r/c! sport boating is here to stay and racing is losing participation. my new p/t hull is illegal already, off the shelf-now other boats that have been used will be turned away. more rules, more rules, they hurt us all, where or when does it stop. this is a hobby for me and i like being with the guys. start a pro circuit if rules mean so much. i've got a bad taste in my mouth about rules after spending over $700 on a boat thats illegal.

Just a small piece of advice for those that have the courage to listen to advice:

Before discussing, proposing or implementing rules it is a good idea to communicate these ideas with a geographical cross-section of the members before hand. This goes for both NAMBA and IMPBA. A rules committee works very well for this as does a forum such as the IMPBA forum. Then you avoid the case where a hand full of members from from one small area of the country has the ability to create selective rules that effect the majority. There are many rules on the books now in both NAMBA and IMPBA that has been implemented by this selective method and they do not apply very well nationally. Some can even be considered unsafe.

John, you don't race nitro. Relax. It will be okay. I promise.

Doug, I used to think that too. Get some sort of consortium together to hash out an idea. I always end up mad at someone or someone is mad at me. I've resorted to discussing my "ideas" with some level headed people I trust to see if I've lost my mind. Newland recently talked me down from a sport hydro idea I had that would have started yet another round of arguing to the death. Bodies everywhere.

On this sport hydro trial thing with IMPBA.....did nobody check to see if the most popular boats currently running fit the new parameters? Doesn't effect electric. I get it. But how do you "trial" them? What they heck does that mean? "Let's try out making a bunch of boats illegal." Send all the nitro Whips home? Tell them to build new boats that fit the rules while we "trial" them on for size. Then if the rules don't pass or get amended before voted on..... well...... our bad.

If your trying out something brand new then trial rules makes sense to me. See if it works kind of thing. Trial rules that change existing classes so that hulls currently racing become illegal are foolish IMO. That's just me.

Remember, local clubs can decide whats legal for their races.
