Fighter Cat Lynx SAW build: need advice

Just got in a new Carbon Fiber Pro Boat Lynx cat. Wow is it beautiful!!! Thanks Benjamin ). A few pics below.

This is a NAMBA N-2 Offshore class SAW build and would appreciate advice on a Leopard motor & prop capable of hitting close to 70 MPH (current record is Brian's 62.48 MPH).

    For a single motor build here's a list of the Leopard motors I have now: LBP 3660 4630 KV; 3674 3270 KV; 4042 4000 KV; and a 4074 2200 KV.

I'd be glad to have suggestions for other motors (LEU etc), but I'm retired with limited funds. Max price for a motor needs to be =<$200.

Any SAW racers out there that can help me choose the best motor & prop for this build? The CF Lynx is very light(23 oz). The N-2 Offshore class is limited to 2S2P MAX, so I need motor suggestions for a 7.4 Volt build. JIM

I'm a newbie SAW guy but how about a Neu 1512/1d 4875kv with a V940 or ABC1718? I think that would do it. Under $200 for the motor on OSE.

You are also limited to 2P, can't run 4P in any class. Max 10Ah.

Dang it too! I've so been trying to resist getting one of these. They're just so sweet looking.

I already have the motor, speedo and cells to run it too.

Maybe Mark or Boyd can weigh in, but from what I saw of Mark's... I'd recommend that, if you get one in carbon, you have him lay it up with an extra layer. Nicely laid up, but I think Mark mentioned that it was pretty thin and he had added an extra layer inside.

Mark, if I have this wrong... feel free to correct me...

It's a really nice looking boat, however, and obviously FAST! Not sure how they turn, but they look good going straight...

Looks a lot like the BK cat I had a while back. That was paper light carbon too.

                  Interesting question.
Has the hull a thin "feeling"?
Is it flexing more because of its thin?
Is it going to break because its thin?

Thanks Tyler. David was first to respond & reminded me that this is an single motor class. I edited that part out but forgot to fix the LIPO count for twin motors.

Darin, The CF Lynx is indeed thin hulled, but it is very rigid & should be fine for SAW racing and survive the usual blow overs crashes, as long as I don't whack another turtle like I did with my MISS GEICO at last years first SAW.

I still need some advice from the SAW racer community on a good motor/prop combo that would give me at least a longshot chance to better Brians N-2 record. While I already have the above Leopards, I think I can save up the money before October to buy a NEU 1515 0r 1521, but I'm clueless as to choice of winds & KV. Any thoughts guys? Pretty please!!! JIM

Its a nice looking hulk, but it looks exactly like Bens River cat/HOTR cat.

Exaclty the same hull in ever detail, just smaller
theres not alot of room for a bigger motor,as the bubble is not very big in the hatch.

Not an exact copy of the River Cat. Transom is flat on the Lynx.
