Masters of the SAW universe, I've changed my original request to show that in the N-2 Offshore class, I'm limited to 7.4 volts 2S2P. So, what I need are motor and prop suggestions for this SAW build that meet the 2S2P LIPO limit. Please, keep those recommendations coming in, your help is very much appreciated.

I've added a couple of pics to show the transom details. Not quite a River Cat clone. JIM

I've never seen this hull in myself but we know the river/HotR cat is a splash of the H&M Agitator and folks are saying its a scaled down version, if the bottom is a splash of the Agitator S that I have (the top isn't) then it is only 5 3/8" from outside of ride pad to outside of ride pad. Using a low revving motor and a big prop would be asking for torque problems on a boat that narrow, and you would need a big rudder to cope with the prop walk. To leverage the amps available from 2p you will need a fairly large motor and with 4 or more poles you cant get High KV on big motors, so you may want to consider a 2 pole motor. A 1521/1d is only 2900kv way too low, a 1512/1d is 4875kv, getting there but it is still a bit lower than we would race with here, you would get 5mins runtime on a 37mm prop with 2s1p with that KV so your prop would still have to be rather large for 2s2p SAW, IMO you would have to come down to the 1509/1d for 6700KV and while I would love one for my 2s1p Agitator S I think 2s2p SAW may be asking a little too much of a motor of that size. Although having said that looking at the Lehner motor chart I see they stop winding motors at 3 turns (although fewer are technically possible) which is 4180kv on a 1950 and 5225kv on a 1940, not sure if either are willing to do special winds but a Neu 1512 .5y should be a little higher than the 1d, maybe 5000kv which still needs a big prop, a Lehner 1950/2turn should be about 6300kv which sounds great if you can get one.

I'm gonna give my Leopard 3660 4630 KV - 34,262 RPM - a try in my NAMBA N-2 Non-SAW class BlackJack Offshore boat to see how that might work with the N-2 Lynx SAW build. I realize that's apples & oranges, but the FE Nats are in June - SAWs are in October. So my focus right now is finishing my non-SAW Offshore builds, and hope the testing can, at least in part, be transfered to the Lynx for SAW.

Any thoughts on which prop to start with with the above motor for the Lynx SAW build? THX, JIM

M445/V942 to start? Which are also about as big as I would want to go on that hull, Think you will end up too big for the hull though with that KV.
