I already have a gt3b with extra recievers for my cars. Looking for a ARTR setup. Love the looks of the boat in which I quoted above. Seems like alot of people agree on the shark but I'm not fond of the looks. I don't have a rescue boat so I really like the self righting feature of the shark. Can anyone recommend another self righting boat that has more of the offshore racing boat look ? There is a local selling a miss geico model as well. Is this good for a beginner ?
I have a Motley Crew which is similiar to the Miss Geico and the Miss Geico is a Catamaran. The other boats you are referring to are Deep-V hulls so they are of a different class.

I like the Self-Righting Feature of the boat, but if you get a Cheap Fishing Rod with a Tennis ball attached at the end and from the tennis ball add a weight you will not have a problem retrieving your boat.

Deep-V are good for rough water conditions, but i love the looks of cats.

good luck on buying a boat

The Arpro has an odd kv.........1508, and they recommend 3s which doesnt give a whole lot of rpms, but folks have ran them with 42-45mm diameter props for some decent speed, probably high 30's, low 40's.

Not sure why the 3s recommendation, but if i owned one I would sure try 4s in a heartbeat.....................maybe with an x435-x438.

You need to decide if you want a hull that can run in glass or chop as a mono can........................or a cat.

The Proboat impulse & Miss Geico are both superior boats in every way ie performance, build quality, motor & esc compared with the Arpro.

I'm really leaning towards the impulse. Do you see any advantages of the geico over it ?

Theirs advantages with both just depends on what conditions you run on, if its choppy the Impulse will handle it better. In smoother conditions the Geico handles very well & turns on rails.

This website does a good job explaining the pros and cons of the different hull types, although I don't think monos are as hard to set up as this guy states-- I have 3 with flood chambers and they are great. While monos may not technically be the fastest hulls, they are still fast (my syncron hits 50mph), and you can run in all water conditions. Good choice for a first boat IMHO.

For $275 on that used impulse with all those extras I would JUMP on that. Great boat, great price, and extra parts for back up.

If you bought all that new it would run you over $400.
