What to buy/Build for less then 300$ ?

    Hi,
Im looking for a fast boat (30+ mph) and LiPo's wich i can Buy or Build for less then 300$.
I dont have any Li-Po's and charger.

I actually doesnt really care about the size of it but, i prefer small boats.

    Thanks for the suggestion!

X2. Buy a set or two of lipos and buy a good charger/power supply for when you expand your fleet.

if i'll be excused for going off topic slightly, how about the exceed mono with the flood chamber for self-righting? http://www.nitrorcx.com/99b-10018-630-ep-artr.html. (by the way, if steve here can get it, even better.)

We brought that boat into the country for testing about two years ago but at the time decided not to stock it. It is a HOT little boat but be SURE they carry extra parts. The boat uses a very unusual flexshaft arrangement which you won't be able to find anywhere! Also the tiny little 3 blade prop is almost impossible to find. IF you order one of these, get the extra parts at the same time.

This boat will handle rough water very well and is far superior to the other one listed here.

Here is a video of the SWORD running at our club's lake a couple of weeks ago. This is the boat we brought in for testing two years ago! The SWORD is about a 35mph boat.

Of course if you want FAST, you need one of our Generation II Starships which have been clocked upwards of 60mph! http://minicatracingusa.com/srigger.html or our Micro Hydro, 40-45mph http://minicatracingusa.com/mhydro.html

Look like the Sword is the best i saw yet in the suggestion.
Fast&small&Flood Chamber but, i got some question about it.

Which servo i should get with the SWORD ? (http://www.nitrorcx.com/99b-10018-630-ep-artr.html)
Is this a good radio? because i actually doesnt have one. (http://www.nitrorcx.com/fs-g2-24ghz-radio.html)
And which charger and LiPo's i should get ?
They also say i need a Weight to auto stable it ... what is this ? ;s
                  What is the runtime ?

                  Thanks for the help!

As I recall the SWORD takes an odd size servo. It's a MINI, not a Micro. If I were you I would call NitroRCX and ask them to check it for you and recommend a servo. I think something on the order of a Hitec HS225 would do it.
I don't recommend that radio. The one we tested was horrible. No range.
I'd recommend this battery pack. These packs are very high quality and they are shipped from a warehouse here in the states: http://www.haiyinstore.com/products_...=190+&PID=191+

You will need to change the plug on the battery pack to a Deans Ultra to match the plug on the esc in the boat.

My recommendation for a radio is the Tactic because it doesn't require an external receiver antenna and I have used them in boats up to 70mph screamers with no issues at all. http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&I=LXWRP3&P=ML

This is the best deal on the planet for a charger! I have two and they are great. Both DC and AC and will do whatever you need for now and some time to come. Better yet, they are here in the USA!! This link is to their Miami warehouse. They also have a Los Angeles warehouse if that's closer to you: https://www.leaderhobby.com/product....Location=MIAMI

                    These are just my opinions

Sorry, I have no clue. I'm not a big proponent of 2S high KV stuff myself.

                          Hi 679Alex,
That's my Dragon Sword mono in Sailr's video. This boat is simply awesome in the way it
handles the turns. You can go full throttle into a turn without fear of rolling it, as long as thewater is relatively calm. But the boat will handle some decent chop as seen in the video.
The self-righting feature is very useful if you don't have a small kayak or rescue boat. I've
flipped the boat a couple times and within 10 seconds it's back to high speed running.
I just bought a metal 3 blade prop 32mm with a 1.4 pitch. I will let you know how it runs this weekend. If you have any other questions that weren't answered by sailr, feel free to ask.

I found a promotional video of it with stocks specs

Interesting. At the end of that video there is a link to the manufacturer's website. I went there. That website doesn't mention the Sword at all and looks as though it hasn't been updated in about 4 years!

Hi all new to this site and RC boats. I have been into 1/8 scale buggies and 1/10 SCT's for awhile. Like the original poster looking for boat under 300. I already have a gt3b with extra recievers for my cars. Looking for a ARTR setup. Love the looks of the boat in which I quoted above. Seems like alot of people agree on the shark but I'm not fond of the looks. I don't have a rescue boat so I really like the self righting feature of the shark. Can anyone recommend another self righting boat that has more of the offshore racing boat look ? There is a local selling a miss geico model as well. Is this good for a beginner ?
