    Floatn;
    GET THE PROGRAMMING BOX.......................

It takes about 15 seconds to program the ESC with it. best money youcan spend.
The box works on all his ESC's.

yes, the small black wire is the anti-spark wire. the bare end is soldered to the negative (-) Bullet on your battery pack.
Like the folks above said, connect the positive wires together first from the battery to the ESC, then, connect the little anti spark wires connector
together followed by the big negative wires from the battery to the ESC. NO SPARK....

The wires with the white connector on them are for the built in cooling fan on top of the ESC.
Plug that in to a dedicated battery just before taping the lid on the boat. (or you can connect it to a switch from the battery
FOR THE FAN and start it that way.)

    hope this helps.

one other thing,,,,,,,,,,,,, program the ESC BEFORE you run it..........................
they are NOT plug and play.

The box makes things easier and can be used to alter settings lakeside. The USB isn't crap, you just have to be computer literate -I'm not. I keep getting messages that I haven't installed the correct "driver".

I installed a "driver" but it must be the wrong one

Tony, to fix your driver, grab a #1 wood, bend over, and - well you know the rest. JIM

PS: I tried to use your anti-spark method, but all it did was make my hair straight & my nose bleed. Maybe I should do the "insert where the sun don't shine" method above?

No, by all means, keep the software and you can do the basic programming at the house.
GET the box and take THAT with you to the lake.

Makes Life a WHOLE LOT easier.

directly from my fightercat forum so ignore anything that doesn't apply to this thread
you need to plug in a motor and 3S lipo.
ninstall everything fightercat on your computer, this can be done through start - control panel - add or remove programs (uninstall a program on windows 7)
              then install this : fightercatracing.com/pcs/
if you have prerequisite issues (when opening the program), install this : http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/de ... x?id=17851
run the program, if you have issues, first restart your computer and try again.
then plug in your usb driver, don't do anything until you get a window in the bottom left that says "searching for driver software" or something similar.
if the driver installs properly, you will get another window in the bottom that says so, if it is unsuccessful, I will try to find something for you to do
if it is succsessful, *open up the fightercat programming software, on my computer it takes about 5 or 6 tries to actually get it to open, so keep trying until it works.
plug in your USB linker, wait for your computer to recognise it, you will get a little "do do do" on your speakers once it connects
click the search for dirver button, not the manually open button on the top right corner (i do not know the exact text off the top of my head)
let it find the usb driver, it will give you a com port when finished, right next to it will be a slot for a com port, select the one it gave you, then select the right ESC right next to that.
plug in your ESC, it will beep, plug in 3S, the beeps should get louder.
it might beep constantly for a while, just continue the normal procedure.
once you get 3S connected (your motor should have been connected this whole time) click connect, once the bar at the bottom of the screen is complete, wait about 2-3S, you will hear the motor beep once and get a prompt that says did you hear the motor beep?, click yes if it did.
go about your programming, again if you are using a stick radio, throttle endpoints should be 1.0ms and 1.9ms.
click write to ESC (the green button) and the motor will beep until the programming is complete (this may get annoying but please refrain from throwing your motor through the wall).
              it should be programmed.
if you have any issues, restart your computer, plug the usb drive in before opening the PCS, and start again from the *

Thanks for the info, I might try all this business tomorrow, I will most likely run into some problems along the way so "PM's" will be a fly'n.

                thanks again

Hmm glad I read this, ready to pull the trigger on a LV 300 for a Lehner powered N2 cat.
Think the programming box is the way to go for me, that looks frustrating to say the least!
If my boats upside down then who owns the one I thought I was driving the last two laps?

At my age and having few computer skills, and after several lengthy failed attempts to get the programming instructions to work, I figure it'll be Christmas before I get it working.

For some reason a BFH doesn't work trying to adjust the computer settings! And I could see me going to get my trusty brick hammer! Computers are great when they do what you want them to. Too often mine seems to develop it's own ideas about what it wants to do!
Nothin' like being outsmarted by a fancy adding machine with a built in tv screen!
