    Excellent responses guys!

Just to clarify some things...In Aus we can only run a maximum of 650g (i think) in 4S (we call in EA) so 2P (or more than 5500-6000mAh) is out.

The water in the Videos was GREAT water I would love to have a setup which is better in the 'less than ideal RACE water' and sacrifice a few MPH than lose a race by crashing. I have to many boats now that I don't run oftern enough because I will only use them on good to medium water.

    Tony,

Can you send me a PM with a price on the IB 34? Just been looking at the pictures of it and maybe that will be a good option (with a different motor as suggested)

As it stands I think I will go the Cyberstorm route to get me going as most seem to agree for the power plant I want to use it will be good.

BTW, I don't think our boats are much different in speed over here in Aus only running on 1P, some of the boys up in Brissey would definately give the Yanks and run for their money (if the Aussies could drive properly LOL)

    Cheers
    Kris

      Kris,

I'll shout back at you tomorrow. Just want to check it out before quoting. Just as an aside, when I compared amp usage between the 1515 1Y and 1521 1.5D to determine the one pulling less amps for Offshore, the 1521 1.5D (at least in my experience) pulled LESS out of the batteries in my Offshore Cyberstorm. The 1521 1.5D just loafs with just about any prop you use

I think the Insane 34 would be fine with a 1515 1y and an octura 447 prop. Maybe a 445 for 1p. I also believe its the best race boat for choppy conditions. I think your not going to like a cyber storm in choppy conditions. It might be faster on glassy water but more of a handfull in chop. But that's just my thoughts on the subject.

My problem with the DF hulls, is the thin layup. Wait till it stuffs once or twice. It'll be covered in cracks, hull and hatch. My Rico is a tank!

Stuffed it while leading a P-Mono heat in choppy gasserwater. What cracks ? (think ripe pistaccio nut) - in fairness it hit the bottom - came up with mud inside

On a really windy day with huge waves, I backflipped my IB34 at WOT- it slapped down upside down so hard it broke the entire rail/battery box loose from the hull. No cracks, just a few spiders in the gelcoat.

Been there done that - My 2280/7 powered DF35 was a garbagable item after the first stuff the hatch was completely caved in - I have to say the Sniper 45's are very tough , I have wiped mine out numerous times and not a single crack yet....touch wood

An additional layer of carbon/kevlar/fiberglass with the cloth wrapped up around the side seems does wonders and makes these hulls bulletproof.

Yup, the entire inside and transom have an extra layer for stiffness, but still is nice and light. You should have it this afternoon.
