I maidened my Apparition this weekend, it went really well.

Needs some trimming, and messing around with some props.

Where have people found the best cog on these?

I'm not even to the point your at yet, but if you search under "HOTR" here on this site. There are tons of threads on builds of these and a lot of talk on COG on a bunch of different set-ups, but you will have to read thru a few threads to find the info, but there is a lot of it.

i disagree about the handling of this boat if you ask jesse j mine runs 60+ very stable and he was impressed to see my overpowered hull pull wheelies and pull so hard in the turns and cc2200 on 5s was a prop skater

              Hi Guy's ,

Before we get ourselves into a knot regarding the capabilities of the Apparition , we all need to do some research on what other members have accomplished ( I know I am guilty of this at times ) . Seem to remember a forum member about a year ago running 10S set - up in his , during his build he had a few Gurus that doubted this application & much worse his sense of adventure , after he built it , he also made a YouTube video to show us all what can be achieved by his initiative & positive forum advice - think it may have been Fightercat ( he da man when it comes to Apparition / Genisis )

Hi Jim, you are not the first person to ask this question and sadly I can't answer it. It is actual 2x Himodel 200amp escs joined together with custom watercooling through the middle and a layer of liquitape covering the escs. Both the motors have their own water cooling and the rudder provides the cooling for the escs.

its the same for me im running a leopard 4074 2000 kv and changing to a swordfish esc so i dont have to mount it so far up under infront of the motor and gunna get an m545 or similar but it wah wahs like the geico and doesnt seem to get its power down but i think it has alot to do with the stock prop lol not biting coz it cavititates then screams off but the wah wah is annoying lol and makes it kinda look like it hasnt got all the power it has lol the strut is neutral how far should i have the batteries placed from the motor mount tho its currently stripped besides the motor mount waitin for goodies from kintec and batteries from hk and prop from a local supplier lol coz the batteries that came with it are only 20 c which alos would be contributing to the lack of power lol and im not gunna run it till i get those things as i dont want low amp lipos burning up my boat lol

Yeah, definitely replace the stock prop. Do you have a vid?

50/50, interesting. Reading the 30pager hotr thread some suggest the cog at around 8-9inch from the back of the sponson, mine was running with the cog much further forward than that. Next run I will balance it back there and see what difference it makes, also thinking of a x442 prop instead of the x440.

Yeah I'm technically not correct if you go by measurement of the whole 32". I give myself 25" of play room, the rest I stuffed flotation noodle in. The COG without batteries in is 9.5inches with batteries it becomes 13 inches. The batteries keep the front down enough at high speed but the stinger angle is parallel to the hull forcing it slightly down in the water plus it weighs more at the back because of several layers of fiberglass and the hardware. With the 4074 XL twins it was a very difficult hull to balance. Originally I had 4x 2s 5000mah batteries. 2 at the back and 2 at the front but every turn was so unstable because of too much weight at the back. I hope to get a video of it soon. Its very fast! My last vid I got flipped it at 55MPH 3/5 throttle with the 4 batteries.

Will make sure I get the vid next time. Sometimes my camera crew are occupied I went to the lake the other day and thought it would be too rough for the Apparition. When I got their the wind had died off but I had only brought my mono .... I got to wait for the sunshine here in the UK. Hopefully Friday!

And also just checked out floatns last vid mine ran very simliar to that same sort of speed and bouncing like that if that gives any idea on how it ran
