    Large Cat for Racing Nitro

I hope this gets Jays attention. I'm looking for ideas on a cat for racing nitro boats. This is unorganized racing. Basically a bunch of nitro guys hit the pond on weekends with all kinds of hulls, no classes. Right now my p mono is a tad slower but once a few boats hit the water I cant keep up in the race water of their larger hulls. So I'm looks to build a big boy. I would like to go direct drive using a Jazz 63 on 12s. 12s because I have 4s packs. But I'm open for suggestions.

Wow, nice but I would like a more traditional looking offshore cat. Plus (not that it matters much) I "think" its not a legal Offshore hull because of the forward window. Not to mention $410 euro plus shipping, it would cost about $750 for just the hull. What about the AeroMarine Hulls? I need to maybe surf the gas boat sites for some ideas to.

For what its worth try ebay and type in a seller forabuck. His feedback is great and his prices are as well. He usually has a60 inch cat for sale. I dont know if he buiilds them but I have beeen eyeing them for a while. Again, they may not be traditional "scale" hulls but for the price and quality its not bad. Im sure some of the gassers are using this type of hull. I can give a link to his items for sale if you like. right now he just has a few 50" v hulls for sale, but usually has the cats in stock.

I'd electrify a proven gas cat hull like the Insane Gen II cat or Stryker. I've seen both run and they go like stink. On 12S with a BAM you should smoke the Nitro lads.

Doing this will make them want to convert their rigs from the smelly, messy gas engine to the enviroment friendly 10-12s lipo coke can motor powered rigs.

What p mono are you running now? Is it the boat that cannot take the wake? needing a new hull? or the setup isn't strong enough? maybe repowering it?

I have a Avenger Cat that I run with a 1527/1.5Y on 10S. Here's a video taken at the WW IV race. The pond was tiny and I had a 452/3 on it. I've run it with a 455/3 as well. The pond was too small to let it really get going, but at least it give and idea of what this hull can do.

I would love to sell you one of my big Eurocats Steven but the cost of shipping a hull this size ( 54 inches ) from NZ to USA would kill the deal.
Below is my Miss Longlite powered by a Zenoah but I am considering repowering with big twin electric power in the not too distant future.

Mich I will search him out.

Ocean I meant Jay Turner. He's been racing cats for a long time.

Bill thats a great running boat.

Graham she's a good looking hull. How's it turn?

JMO,,,I would stick with Aeromarine Cats 40-45"!! They handle like they are on RAILS and rough race water is NO Problem... Any of these on 12S with 2215 or 1527, would RIP!!!!

Some guy's here in Dallas, run the Striker and Insane Cats as well with great results... Most of them are Gassers..

Steven, have you looked at the Aeromarine Team Believer?
Nothing like keeping you lipos warm and your prop wet!!

Speaking of rails. If I were to get an AM Cat hull I would absolutely get it with rails installed, or install them myself. The bottom of the boat flexes like mad making it very difficult to keep things aligned under load.

Mine has a good amount of CF laid in on the bottom, but that still allows too much flex for my liking.

Bill, make a rail in the front the width of the hull, like the one Aeromarine installs in the gas hulls.. It would be easy to do... Here is a picture of the inside of a Aeromarine43" Conquest Gas Hull...
