continuing the thread about ben's cat.

since I don't want to cloud up the thread about the 41" cat anymore, i started this one.
the reason I would make two is because I already have two motors, i might just build one and save the other t600 for another project.
I son't want to buy a rtr and tinker, it just doesn't seem fun to me or worth it.
i'll film everything that will be permanent and get opinions so that everything comes out fine.
I might be getting a paid internship at a furniture place with 50 000$ worth of machining equipment, no more misdrilled holes!!

Ill offer you my never used fully re inforced Daytona bare hull for $180. Ill figure shipping and split it with you. Its drilled for Fightercats 3/16 stingers and strudder mount. Flotation is also installed and sealed. Ill throw in 2 OSE aluminum motor mounts. Ben sells these new for $150. I figure my time and materials is worth at least $30. Let me know.

ugh, you make it hard to pass up but i think i've completely passed on the cat idea (for now hehe) sowwy
the bling rocket is only 91$ which is REALLY cheap for a hull, then maybe with the other t600 i'll build a 32" river cat or something along those lines (maybe a twin, belt driven hydro or rigger muahaha)
how good is the bling rocket both strength wise and running wise?

Never had a Bling rocket, but im sure it runs good. It will need re inforced like every other China hull. What is the length and diameter of the T600? If its at least a 40mm dia, I think it may be a bit too big for that hull. If your going to run 4s in a B.R., Id run a 2000kv 540. Like I said, never had one or a hull its size, but I dont think a phyically big motor will benefit you. Ill post my cat hull for sale.

I think they are df26 clones even a 540xl would be and overkill maybe a pb1500 kv on 5s or ul1, also was wondering if anybody has tried bens 140 esc?

The $91 mono is 32". I think Boaterguy had a 140, but I think it blew if I remember right.

it blew because the timing got set wrong, so it's not his fault, the thing is TINY!!
yeah it would be the 32" hull, turnigy t600 1400kv on 6S.
so would the 32" need to be reinforced?

I have one of Ben's 140 esc and will be testing it in my 1/10 classic hydro soon as I have a chance to do some mods on the boat.
It is def tiny about half width of the 120.

How did you set the timing wrong??

Buy a hull you like, dude. If it needs reinforcing, do it once you get the hull. Dont overwhelm yourself. One build at a time.

The "Bling Rocket" is a Pursuit hull. That's my next build.

the program never actually wrote to the ESC, so it was running an OR at 0*
i got an opportunity to work at a furniture shop with 50g's worth of woodworking equipment, my dad suggested i mill out a hull from a block of cedar, but I don't think mills can get under the hatch to mill out the front, and cedar would be pretty heavy.

I came in late to the convo about the ESC but I don't see why 0* timing would ruin an ESC. If anything it would just make the motor run slow. Bumping the timing higher actually stresses everything more. Could be, but that is my experience with ESC timing and motors. All motors need timing, but never heard of, or had an ESC die due to lack of. Been running on road, off road ESC's with little to no timing for over 5 years now.

could have been something else then, but it clearly states on the ESC page that motors needing timing need to be run with timing or permanent damage will be done.
