I was pondering this the other day if I had a 7.2v ESC could i use two motors that use 7.2v like the chameleon.

You could but you wouldn't be any more faster than your stock setup since your running 14.4v now and would have to run 7.2v on the new setup. It would be just like a normal villain(not the EX version) with better motors.

For a stock villain there are only a few "upgrades" that you do to get more speed.

          1. Run 16.8v instead of the 14.4v or use lipos.= biggest increase.

          2. Upgrade the props.= second largest increase.

3.Change the gearing. (be wary of temps)=a good increase but temps can get it pretty hot if over geared.

IMO anything else is wasting money. They just aren't many 540/550 motors designed for the high voltage which causes alot of wear and tear on them. I would suggest change those 3 things and if you feel you need more speed out of the villain, convert it to single drive, 700 motor or brushless.
