Been watching this thread for a couple of days and only have one question. What is with the I was not there thing, but, I will throw mud anyway??????
Knowing at least 1 person in this thread personally (stayed at his house for the Eugene trip this month after work, spent the 4th of July there, ...) and can honestly say that he would be one of the first to call out anyone including himself for a record violation.
Having said that, I think it is a little lame to imply (at the very least) that something is going on below the water so as to speak. I would say to anyone that passed the tech inspect "Have a little more fun in the future and see what else you can obliterate or break."
I would guess that more than a few of you have never been through tech at the dragstrip. If it passes you run, if not you go home. On the same note, if it passes and you set a record and can back it up it is yours. By the way if they suspect you are not legal they will tear you down on the spot. They know about what it takes to produce that record, if it sounds absurd it might just be. If you start whining at the teardown it can and does get worse. I healthy dose of keeping your mouth shut usually helps keep it to the manifold and heads. Not so smart, it all comes out just to prove a point.
None of which are we talking about. Electric motors are incredibly simple, unlike internal combustion. For a specific winding, flux density available iron content/density they will perform in a specific range. It is all about how much current you can throw at the motor before it or the semiconductors leak smoke and cease to function. I think we are still way far away on props and there is more to be gained, and that is what is going on here.
In attendance or not has no bearing on anything, if you cannot trust the system there is a problem, and perhaps the problem is the person and not the system.
It's a hobby, or did I miss something here???
