What speeds can a Mean Machine handle?????

I'd like to know what sort of speed I should be able to get out of the MM, taking all the different set up's out of the question. I don't know what you guy's get out of yours and would like some goals to try to achieve. Is there a speed that too much?? I want to be able to set my boat up so she'll run a little more stable and still have good speed but I don't know what to shoot for.

That 1717 is just too much for your MM. You wont be able to put a big enough prop on that boat to take advantage of it's power. Also, that plus 6s2p is one heavy little cat. I ran my sprintcat .20/.40 (same bottom as the mm) With a CC/Neu 1518 on 5s2p and a x645, x447, and x548 and that boat was right around 60 mph and turned on a dime.
One other thing you want to do is make sure the strut bottom is at least 1/4" above the sponson bottoms for a start. Moving up a little at a time from there.

do think it'd be worth me trying out the 1515 2200kv on 4s2p with maybe a X445 / x447 or should I maybe look at getting another motor, say a 4082 or something similar?
I have plenty of 4s and 6s I'd like to stick with

The 1515 would be great in that boat. Go with the x445 and she should move out real nice.

thanks man, I'll swap it out and give it burl next chance I get. If all goes well, I'll buy another to replace the one I'll be pinching out of my titan.
          I appreciate the advice

            Try m445 instead with 1515

thanks man, I have an m445 with the 1515 so I'll give it a run as soon as I get the chance. The lepard 4074 2200kv is about the same as a 1515 isn't it???

1515 very similar. I run leopard 2200 on 4s and get 50mph steady with m445.

I run the Nue 1515.1Y (2200) on 4S2P, but I run much smaller props, such as, 440-3 and the Y537. The boat runs 57 to a high of 58.5mph, but I don't feel the boat is good at those speeds for heat racing. My boat currently holds the IMPBA one-third mile Heat Trails record for P Tunnel Inboard, but I pushed the batteries way forward and I would guess that the boat was in the 52 - 55MPH range or slower. I think you will love the hull and enjoy the fact that you can change trim for speed or handling and have a lot of fun. Good Luck!
