    New Himodel marine ESC's

HiModel ICE 150A 2-6S Water-cooled Brushless Navy ESC ICE-150A from manufacturer HiModel, in category Brushless Speed Control (BL ESC) - Boats, Electric Speed Control (ESC).

They have had the aircooled versions for a while but they just got these in stock.
The air versions look like YGE esc's that have been rebranded or copied.
150amps for $51 sounds good to me!

Looks like a good find, has 10 ga. wire which is nice. For the price looks like a viable spec SC (where allowed). I might just give it a try

Here they are in the air cooled versions.
I didn't see those pics untill now, they do look similar as well!

I was really interested in the HV 120's for under 100 bucks.
I thought the 120hv looked just like this....

It is amazing how much copying/rebranding there is in this hobby!

          Nice find, thanks.

I had a pair of T120's on B/O. Cancelled that at HK for credit on account (buggers never give money back!)

Just ordered a pair of these instead. We'll see in about 10 days.

I was looking at the Air versions a week ago and said the same thing about those HV ones, they look like YGE esc's...

I have no idea? Haha I might order some of them if I can. I only have about 3 weeks until I go back to school so I dunno if I could use them by then?

BEWARE!! I recieved my 150 amp HiModel esc today and they screwed up major!!

First, no 10G wire as stated, take off the 2 layers of shrink and there is only a cooling plate on the top board of fets!!!

The PCB's, 2-fet bords are nice and thick with a thin control board on the bottom.

They did not put a heat sink on top of the middle board!!!! WTH!!!

Unless this is the design to give a proper thermal cut-off or something, I'm not impressed!!!

                  Stick to T120, SF120, T180 etc!!!

They are well made otherwise, thick heat sink (only one of two needed!!) Coated for water resistance.

Not worth the $50. Maybe the HV ones are nicer??

Hmm, but the most scary thing is that they dont care about it. ANd we will keep shopping from them just because of the pricing. And they know it!!
Me myself is doing it and Im taking it in account that every thing isnt all right and as stated. No need to even think about sending it back or even start
arguing with them. They simply dont care!!
Its the Chinese way of business!

Not 100% true. I sent a 2.4G radio back and they exchanged it for free. Cost me $20 to ship it back though and it took 2 months!!

I might be packing these up and sending them back if I don't have any aluminum stock to fit in there.

Problem is the bottom of the top FET board has a flipin resistor or capacitor in the way of the cooling plate

These ESCs are around for some time now... the first issue was from PULSO, but it did not have the thermal cutoff, so most of them were burning...
I have a couple of these now (from another supplier) and I had no issues with temperature. BUT I had to redo the cooling a bit. The original setup is: fet layer / heat transfer rubber / 2mm aluminum sheet / heat transfer rubber / water cooler, which is purely done to raise the cooler and avoid touching the solder for the motor / battery wires. If you redo a bit of the soldering, you can get away with a normal setup without the middle Al sheet.
The only good point about them is the software: timing adjust in 1deg steps (1 to 30), voltage cutoff in 0.1V steps.

Are you shure? I think it is possible you are incorrect.

This is Pulso's website and I see nothing remotely like the 2- Hi-Model Ice 120A 4-14 that i have.

Perhaps you are thinking of a different line of Himodel esc's from the past?

The ones I have are either YGE or YGE clones.

I have not used mine yet, been busy with other builds but, I have used the 150Amp 2-6S esc and it runs very well but, needs extra waterproofing.

Very smooth & cool running esc's.

I've posted pictures in the other thread about the new ICE series from HiModel.

Quite positive, as I have some info on the manufacturer... Anyway, the Pulso range is this one:

They put a different heat shrink on them, but inside it's the same.
I had both and even the programming software was the same...

As far as I know, the "ICE" series has different FETs (so they claim), but the rest is the same.

Again, I could be wrong, you never know with these chinese manufacturers...
