personaly im on the 4s without bec.

        from the manual
        "Question Value Description
        3) Cutoff Voltage 1) minimal cutoff Nicad/NiMH cells
        *2) 5V cutoff Nicad/NiMH cells
        3) 6V cutoff 2 cell Li-Po
        4) 7.2V cutoff
        4) 9V cutoff 3 cell Li-Po
        5) 12Vcutoff
        Use this setting at your
        own risk! Damage to the
        controller as a result of
using a 4-cell LiPo pack is
        not covered by the
        manufacturer’s warranty."

          Hi Steven

The BEC is not the concern, 4S or above simply disconnect red wire no problem, the issue is the fact that Castle advertise the Hydra 120 and 240 as being for up to 25 volts but will offer no warranty if using 4 or more lipos. Period.

BTW please don't think that this issue is in any way directed at you personally or OSE. Our gripe is with Castle Creations.
I wish all businesses had your service and ethics.

          Graham.

Graham thanks for trusting me. I also dont want to misrepresent something I'm selling. I don't think the warranty issue is using a 6s with the control. Its using the 6s with the bec thats the problem. I can attest that using 18 cells will quickly blow the bec circuit. I have done that in a race where I use the same boat for 12 and 18 cells. With 12 cells I use the bec, with 18 I normally disconnect it and plug in a rx pack. I forgot and poof!

I may be wrong, so I just left a message with Bernie at Castle. We will get this fixed right away.

Just a fyi, Last month I sent back a customers hydra 240 that was on 6s. With the esc I included his setup info which also included that it was running 6s, the esc was returned repaired.

i agree with G Doggett this is not an ishue with you or your company. i have nothing but good things to say about OSE and you personaly.
the only thing i have problems with is the little part on page 5 of the hydra online manual ( and the paper one i got with my 240. were it do say that you need to cut the wire for the bec) were it say "Use this setting at your own risk! Damage to the
controller as a result of using a 4-cell LiPo pack is not covered by the anufacturer’s warranty." and i orderd the hydra becose i intend to use it on 4-6s
