Spaced out for a couple of seconds and.... whack!!! Crashed into the cement on the opposite side of the lake at 30mph.

Man, these boats are tough. Besides shearing the carbon boom tubes, only the nose piece was smashed.

LOL mine doesn't run well with one sponson, no idea why I keep trying to do it!
I agree about being a tough boat, I've just lost a little paint off the right sponson tip, thats the one I always catch on the bouys!
Just last week had to do another set of boom tubes. They shear off right at the tub.

Well, you not alone. Heres mine. I still cant get over. It been 3 days after the crash. 50mph into turn one and straight to the floating platform.

Were you able to remove the boom tubes without tearing the brass tube out of the hull/sponsons?

Reminds me (embarrassingly) of a heat of P-Mono at the '08 FE Nat's when the clock went to zero, off I went with none other than Darin pitting for me, and my mind went for a romp in Tierra Del Fuego and I went straight into the safety net at the far end of the course . This old age ain't for sissies !!

Yep never had any issues with the brass, just slide the tubes out the broken side, think it would jam up if you tried to pull it through.
The easton arrow blanks I've been using are strong as anything, but once they hit the failure point the seam to almost explode clean off at the brass.
A guy I plow with is a big archery freak, has all these measuring devices for blank arrows, I get blanks that don't meet his standards for something or other. ONe of his archery friends was on the Olympic archery team in the 60's or 70's so the story goes. Didn't even know it was an Olympic sport!
