New to FE, Building a hydro need ESC Motor Bat help

Hi, been searching for some time and cant really nail down what im looking for, or exactly sure what im looking at... been gas and nitro boating for a long time..

I have a hydro hull, Similar to a ul1 hull, Miss Attitude, that has been sitting and decided to use it as FE rather than a sport 20. Looking to get in the 50's with it, not sure which electronics to use... any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks

Why not use the UL-1 ESC/motor combo?? Has worked great for many of us and if your hull is the same size as the UL-1 it would be perfect!

The combo is not in stock right now but steven gets them in all the time (he does have the motors and esc's...just not as a combo)

I will ask the boring questions..budget, hull size, weight, existing drive train, prop and hardware...note that batteries, charger, motor, ESC can cost you a lot of cash.

            Budget... Reasonable 500 range
Hull Size....30 in, 12in transom and 17in from sponson side to side
            Weight... Empty 2.6 lbs
No existing hardware or stuffing tube, have hardware kit for it though and everything else, props, shafts, tubes servo, linkages, etc
Have a lipo capable charger already.

            Here are some pics....

Was thinking for electronics-- Leopard 4074- 2200kv, Leopard 4074 Water Jacket Long, OSE-80600 mount, SeaKing 180 Amp ESC, and 2 4S 5500Mah In parallel.

              Yes no good setup?

Hello Rob and Welcome ! Looks like you're on the right track with that setup - should get you well into the upper fifties with a prop such as an M445 or similiar. I've set up a few FE 30's which have the same general dimensions and they are right around sixty or slightly more. I've seen the Miss Attitude run some time ago as an FE and it did pretty well. Not sure if you can get 2 4S 5500's under the hood but you should be able to do a 1/6 mile 6-lap sprint with just one. Ask as many questions that you need to; we're here to help !

I think your suggested setup is darn near perfect for your desired performance................only change i would suggest is to use a couple 2s batts at one time and have several sets charged up for more runs. 5500 4s batts are heavy, go with some 40c 5000+ mah.

A thought : If your Leopard 4074 has the wires exiting at right angles to the can, the long cooling can might not fit with the mount you list. I just built a FE 30 for a customer with that same motor, but the motor was black, not red, and the wires came straight out of the endbell and that config would work. Maybe somone here can shed some more light on this issue.

My P-Sport Hydro rig uses 2 x 4S 4000's. They just fit and the extra weight helps stability in racewater.

Maybe the leopard is equal in performance just haven't used one yet and paid comparable price for the cc
