    USPS issues??

I shipped out a motor to a fellow OSE member in PA on the 8th, motor still hasn't arrived and the usps.com site says status "Accepted on June 8th on it's way to destination but no other information is available at this time." Has anyone else had any issues with USPS lately? Has it taken longer than usual to deliver a package? thanks in advance

if you have a tracking number, by all means use that and get hold of the post office and have them put a tracer on it.

their tracking isn't really tracking it is just delivery confirmation sometimes the page won't update until the package is dilivered

If this was sent Priority, then IME you may be in trouble. This has happened to me several times, my local USPS sucks. First, have the recipient go to the local office and have them check their back room to see if it is there. I had one package sit on the shelf miss-placed for two weeks and only found it because one USPS employee actually spent a few minutes looking. Second, if there is an insurance number aske them to look for it through their own software. That worked for me once.

I've had several packages returned to the sender because they were "undeliverable", no such address. In fact the address on the package was currect. Good luck.

I've had this happen to me once as well. I ALWAYS put insurance, even a minimal amount, on the package. This way, they HAVE to get a signature when they deliver it. In other words, they have to HAND the package to someone, and can't just leave it at the door...

I once shipped a motor that required signature confirmation. Using the USPS tracking service it kept showing as not updated and undelivered. I called recipiant and he said he received package, but it was delivered to his neighbors house without signature. It's a good thing his neighbor was honest.

Of all the packages I have sent including international I have only had one lost (knock on wood).
I have had some take quite some time to get to where they were going. For example one took over a month to get to it's destination in Canada. I send all packages priority mail flat rate and half the time there is no tracking info.

sometimes they wont even deliver a package if it needs a signature, I found this out a few weeks ago when I was out doing yard work, the guy handed me the mail, I noticed a first attempt delivery ticket, asked him if he had my package, his response: "I tried to deliver it but no one was home." my response: "sir I have been out here laying sod since 7am and you have not been here."

Had to drive to the post office to get my package, I felt like kicking his lying @$$.

I know for the fact that lately they don't even attempt to deliver the package but send out only the slips. I was told that they don't have enough man-power to do all the delivery since they closed down many branches.
My latest package from Taiwan, they left a pink slip for the first time but on it they wrote "final notice". When I went to the post office to pick it up, I pointed that out to the supervisor who yelled at someone in the backroom because she knew that if I were to get an earlier notice, I would have picked it up already.

Wow that sucks. I've sent packages all over the world and most get it in a reasonable time. I did have a few orders that came from Canada that took over a month though. I just received some packages from MI in two days that was sent priority. All of our couriers are on it.

How about this? I used to order stuffs from Buy.com and placed the order over the internet around 2-3 am. The packages arrived around 10 am ON THE SAME DAY.

Note. I am in Philly and the stuffs are from NY.

I haven't had any problems but be aware that Flat Rate mail does NOT include tracking....only delivery confirmation, even if you add insurance.

Where was the package going? If it's the Phoenix area, I have had trouble to and from Phoenix for many years. Their postal system there is terrible!! I've had less problems sending to Russia, Dubai, Singapore, Romania, you name it.
