How close to your running spot?

Just GPS'd it, from one spot I'm 1400 meters, my evening or quick test spot. Have to watch for full size boat traffic but lots of room.
Our other main spot is about 15 minutes drive.
How far do some of you have to travel to go boating? Seen some guys post that they have some serious driving to do.
If my boats upside down then who owns the one I thought I was driving the last two laps?

I'm lucky enough to be able to check the water out the kitchen window whilst doing the morning dishes, it's about 30-40meters from my back door, funny thing is, I still don't get as many chances to drive my boats as I'd like too and some day's I'll be stuck on the mower looking at glassy water, it nearly kills me.

about 5 minutes, but it's hard to get out since I can't drive yet, I get out maybe twice a month at most, availability, weather, and functioning parts all have to line up.

30 yards from garage to lake.
            - if lake is to choppy, 5 minutes to back up pond. 35 minutes if I want to meet up with the guys.

Our pond is about 4 km (5 min)
Or if it is not too windy we can go to Lake Ontario about 10 min away

Actually when we moved to NC and to the apartment complex we live in being so close to the lake is what gave me the idea of rc boats. I never thought about it before then. Then when we moved in I found the hobby shop close and went to order some wings for my rc plane and seen a small cool looking rc boat (Rio Ep) sitting there and bought it, drove it stock for about a week and caught the bug.... Been hooked every since. That was about 2 years ago.

So it seems the common thread is proximity to water for a lot of us. It would be about 45 minutes driving for organized flying or car racing for me, but I have access to water a few minutes in every direction from my house.

Interesting, mines almost exactly the same. 30 yrds to the pond behind the house, about 1-3 minutes to several back up ponds and 20 minutes to the club lake.

And yes, part of the option why we chose our lot was so I could run the boats.
