Three eights of a mile, maybe a minute in the car. Although the lake is 329 acres, it is well protected and it is not unusual to find glass or near glass conditions.

A few years ago I was looking at some property about 3 hours away. It was 7.5 acres with well, septic system, and electricity all ready on the property. All I needed was to put a house trailer on it and get things hooked up. The best part was it had a 1.5 acre pond that was stream fed. To this day I still kick myself in the A$$ for not getting it.

LOL I feel the same about a 1970 Cuda I passed up on as a teen! 440, 4 speed. Oh well I would have had to get rid of my 72 Cutlass.
If my boats upside down then who owns the one I thought I was driving the last two laps?

WHAT? On somebody else's private property? How do you propose I do that?

At my cottage it's maybe 25 yards out the front door, brackish water though, I've never run electric there only nitro.
I really don't count it though, 800 miles away!
The ex owned the cottage in Orillia.

The main lake I use is roughly 1 mile from my house but there is 5 other lakes within 5 miles from my house. At our cottage the waters edge is 10ft and our vacation house is about 20 ft from the back door.

I lived on my first run pond in the 40' Gypsy Boy. Charge 'em up, three steps and into the salt water {eucch}. Then things got too fast for the marina, so off to the infamous Legg Lake; 35 minutes away.

Umm.....that was a joke. I really would not expect anyone to actually build a dock on someones private property. I would guess this could cause a problem ...... but would be pretty funny showing up with a crew . But on another note I know someone who had a problem of tresspassing to run his boat so he bought 10 acres from the road to the lake and solved his problem. Must be nice !!

the pond is 17 miles away but not big enough to race faster boats in but you can run test runs with them in it: fast riggers and monos and tunnels, works for scale hydro's 1/10Th scale, and i can run my micro boats in my 32 by 16 pool in the backyard at about 1/4 throttle max.
too much power not in the FE racing dictionary

                            Big canal off the backyard!

The Quincy lakes are 5 minutes away if I need more space (we do quite a bit of bass, walleye, and muskie fishing here too,in the big boat):

Under 10 minute drive on a Sunday morning. fwiw that same drive on a Monday morning would take 30+ minutes.
                              See it....find the photos.....sketch it it....build it........with wood
