The stock is 47mm diameter 1.4" pitch where as the M445 is 45mm dia and 1.4" pitch, X645: Total Pitch: 1.6x1.77=2.832" X447/3: Total Pitch: 1.4x1.85=2.590"
    With 5S; Stock, M445, X645, X447/3 I had: 38.6, 42, 44.3 and 43.1 mph repectively.

Yes, at 42 mph but less load on the esc and the battery. However if your motor can handle the higher rpm suitable for the smaller prop then you will end up with higher speed than the larger prop that your motor can not spin with the same battery set. Otherwsie everyone will use the largest possible prop for fastest speed.
It is all in the balancing act of the motor, battery, esc, prop, COG, type of hull, water condition, ambient temperature, wind, etc. First and foremost the motor KV and the battery configuration as of course the prop, not to mention the proper esc.
I am now happy with the M445 which hit 56.9 mph with 6S.
        Aren't you gonna what motor???

I have leopard 2200 and I just switched from 2s packs to 4s. Temps went way down and runtime went up. From 3 1/2 mins to 7. The 4s packs can deliver more power. When stuff gets hot, it's usually cause the batteries are draining at max potential. Better to have more than needed. Lesson learned for me

You meant, "from 4S to 2S" right?
