New 32" Pursuite Upgraded.........Major cavitation HELP!!!

Like it says guys i just picked up a pursuit upgraded with the leapord motor and 180a seaking esc...

I havent touched a thing on the boat other then threadlocking a few fasteners... as of right now i had the batteries (3s2p=3s 8000mah) and (2 2s=4s 5000mah) up in the forward section of the boat where the batt shelf is i need to get velcro to straddle the motor with the packs...... now i checked the trim tabs and the stinger and they seem strait/even with the bottom of the boat....will moving my batts to straddle the motor help or is there a adjustment im missing......

The boat is bone stock including the prop...

I had bad ventilation when the prop was not sharpened properly, something you might want to check as well.

Plus I place my packs beside the motor, as suggested by Diesel, big difference.

What exact leopard motor are you running (size & kv)?
      Where are the batteries placed?

      * Most likely a prop issue mixed with a CG issue. Once you supply the motor information we can provide you with the best prop selection and better results. Pursuits are awesome running boats!

It is a leopard 4074 2000kv motor. I'm going out right now to get some Velcro to mount my batteries next to the motor and well see how that works I also lowered the prop strut a Lil bit to get it in the water a Lil bit more I hope this will help. Also the prop is the stock one that kintec provides with there boats

3s is not enough rpm with that motor, stick to 4s2p. Until you change the prop, your results aren't going to be mind blowing. Measure 10" from the transom foward and place the middle of your lipos at that mark you made.. SHould be a ok starting point from there. Do one thing at a time, change the battery location first, then if that doesn't work adjust the strut. Try not to make more the 1 adjustment at a time.

          Herre's my pursuit with a leopard 4074 220kv and a seaking 180...

              Good deal...

Don't run the 3s lipos. Stick to 4s2p. The 3s arent going to be enough rpm.

On 4s what are you looking for.
              - Decent speed and decent runtime?
              - Faster speed less runtime?

I think the stock prop is a TFL 42mm (something like this http://www.offshoreelectrics.com/pro...prod=ose-80708) im not 100% sure though If you sharpened and balanced the prop you would see better results. The stock props are good to learn on, because if you screw it up who cares lol...

For all in all decent runtime and speed a x442, x642 or prather 220 would be good choices.

For more speed and very short runtimes a m645 (which is what I used in that video), prather 225 or a x646. I haven't tried the x646 or prather 225 on this boat yet though. I did try a x447 and I didn't care for the results. I get better results with the m645 and is my fav prop on that boat to date.

Just make sure your system is up to par when you get into the larger props.
What I mean by up to par is when you increase the prop size your going to increase the amp draw. I have CC 6.5mm bullets on my motor/esc connectors and 5.5mm bullets esc power side and on my battery connectors. Make sure your not using small bullets on the motor/esc connections and make sure your not using any thing like deans plugs on the esc power side. Also make sure you have the 1pc drive shaft and not the 2pc square drive shaft. The torque of that motor can destroy the square drive. I have a .187 3/16 flexshaft on my boat. Hopefully this info helps you out.

so an octura m645 for speed......

and octura x442 for longer runtimes...

what do you think would be the difference in runtime between to two??
also do you know of any places to get a pair of 4s lipos on the cheap????(funds are low cuz i just bought this boat)

and thank you for all the input

Depending on the abuse they are going to take, you could get away with hobbyking (chinese) cells, they are cheap, only about 40$ a pack for 4S
for higher end, hobbypartz has a wide array of batteries, never tried any, but they look pretty well made, not a bad price.

I don't know the dimensions of the boat, but the battery has dimensions on the website, just scroll down right above the reviews, measure the current batteries and compare.

Yea they should. I fit 2 4000mah 6s batts in the boat before just to see if they would fit. I would never run it that way. My packs are turnigy 4s 3600mah that i use in this boat.
