If you are able to cram a 10s set up in it you shouldn't have to add weight.LOL
    Leave some room for floatation.
    Good luck,

Absolutely true. You can easily over power the hull and pay the price with handling. I have mine setup with a Neu 1521/1D on 3S2P and the CC240 LV. A M445 does about the best for endurance and temps. For crazy speeds go up a notch. You dont need a 1527 sized motor. The hull can be setup loose enough on a 1521 size can. Trust me. You can go 70 to 80 no problem. In a straight line. From there is gets weird and you need to change your strategy or setup. But since the hull gets unstable in 2-3 inch water the question is why bother to go crazy fast unless its a SAW setup? I wanted to do mine with a 1717 motor. Nice choice too. But I didnt know enough about the CC/Neu's back then to commit. I dont regret my choice. Its stable, fast, and runs each and every time without blowing up, smoking some part, leaving me worry about how I'm going to retrieve it. And most importantly, its 100% totaly fun to drive!

Nice. That's what I'm looking for. The balance. Not building a SAW boat, but a boat that screams because it handles well and is fast. That balance that makes it wicked.

If you're pulling it off with <3,000 watts, then the 4082 should do the trick. I'm going HV mostly because it will use the parts I have on hand and it should net some good run times and lower temps with lower amp draw. This will certainly be a pond boat, no ocean cruising for this hull.

          I have a Pursuit. Powered by NUE 1521 1,5y (1050kv) on 10s.

It is a real rocket doing 60mph easily.

This setup doesen`t even get varm during racing

I even testet it with a prather 250 prop! The speed was too much, but it did not get more than varm.

My next boat will be a 12s. I love the cool, awsome power it gives

            Im running a 4082 1500kv on 6s , its a nice size motor for that hull , had good speeds using a x646 , high 50s - low 60s depending on how wet i run it .

The data log graph shows watts & amp draw running a X648

I did start off with a 8s setup but , i thought it was to much weight for that hull , well for me the power to weight ratio didnt work , had better speeds with the 4082 on 6s

it would a good idea, if you can make a video review(just like hobbykinglive) of your latest HV esc and at the same time you can show off your screams boat LOL

                  What's the COG / Weight?

Scoota - What was the final weight on the hull?

I'm considering the battery weight, etc. This hull is a bit heavy having the rails already installed and heavier FG.

I can tell you after repairing it: my Swordfish 200 just exploded inside the hull today (Feigao 12L lost a magnet and jammed) into about 12.3354 pieces and 5 kilos of black tar... COG was way back, around 25-27%.

Yup! Ran perfectly for a couple of weekends with a solid 51kph, good enough for a crowded Mono 2 race. The problem was that this motor was abused in another hull (swap shop item) and it was probably dying when I bought it...

1717 , 6s2p, x645, 60mph and reliable! peak amps will be around 180, i'd be willing to bet a T180 esc holds up just fine. I also ran a 1520 on 6s with x645 and a T180 in my DF33 clone copy and it ran great, 58mph and reliable.

I have the 1717 in my DF 35" and with an x645 its pulling 183 max amps but i can run it for 5 mins straight without melting her, i am running a sf240 in her though, speed with the x645 is around 57, its a bit faster with 646 and prather 230 have a x450 to sharpen and balance that i think will break 60 though.
