Brushless motors don't have armatures Mr. Peterson.

        Hope this helps,

          Yes DSmock - meant rotor

Edited all my posts. IMO it is a shame when the rules are legal for no more than a day or two and they come into question as post number 10 clearly implies. Even after the landslide vote.

I tend to think of them more as race boats that are toy size then toys. Some of us have a competitive nature about us and like to win, doesn't matter if the prize is a million dollars, or bragging rights.

Should MLB stop testing for steroids because it should be common decency to not cheat and play by the rules? Of course we would all hope that everyone will run a "spec" motor but the truth is the motors can be modified to be faster.

If you win a heat/ break a record your boat should be checked and if you have nothing to hide this wont be any issue.

If they are just toys to you then treat them as such and just run them at your local lake. A race is a competition and there is bound to be people stretching the rules as far as they can so there needs to be a way to check the standard that has be set.

I know I wouldn't want my record (if i had one) to be beaten by someone who wasn't following the same parameters I was and they were able to "beat" the record because they were doing something outside of what is allowed.

Doug, there is cheating going on in fishing too. I heard there are guys crammin lead up the fishes hinder. Hey that sounds a lot like the the cheaters in FE.

I'm with ya. I get it. Really I do.

I've taken this hobby way too seriously in the past. 5 nationals, some saw's, district director, nat chair and such. Wrote rules and pushed to the edge of them blah blah blah whatever. I've done it both ways. Super serious and not so much. When I say they're toys (to me), I say that based on my personal experience. I like to race my toy boats. When I get too serious it stops being fun for me. "for me" being the key there. MUST HAVE FUN! Doctors orders. haha Plus, I get plenty of "serious" at my day job.

I guess I understand the notion that these are so much more to some but I wont be sharing the notion again. Maybe someday. haha

Hmmm, good question. I haven't changed out my original SV27's in my 1/10th scales either for fear there would be a problem.

The legal motors are, HIMAX HB3630-1500, BLACKJACK A3630-1500, AQUACRAFT 36/56.

I didn't see any changes in the recent rule proposals that would allow the SV27 R motor.

The rules changes did not effect the scale class, just the "spec" classes like LSH, OPC Ltd, LSO, etc. etc.

                              Scale is unchanged.
