Uncontrollable is not fun by any means. If that's what you really want, I'd go with a castle 1520 on 6s and a 180 or a 240 amp esc. Little boat, tons of over powering. You will soon discover its not fun and will be getting a new hull and placing a WTB add for a new hatch. Good luck with your boat.

        Dear Sir,

Your application to the ZSP/WTS Club is waiting to be processed. Please provide video evidence of your first run after the flames are extinguished and a sample of the remnants of your boat.

The 1515 .5 Y has twice the KV of a 1Y . in other words unloaded it will turn 4400 RPM per volt( the 1Y has a KV of 2200 rpm per volt ) . You can probably run it on 2 lipo cells , but its going to be an amp hog ! you'll need good expensive cells , and probably a 200 + amp ESC . Start with a small prop , and hope it gets on plane. I had a 1515 .5Y in a 26" mono ,X438 prop I think . It was wild and uncontrollable like your looking for .I would think you need at least 8,000 mha . 2S2P 4000 cells .
Its not a smart thing to do , but you might get away with it .

Just sell the .5 and throw a 4074 2200kv in it on 4s............you'll have a 50mph boat that will actually last

Hey guy's i apreciate your comments and concerns, just for the record m4a1usr when it comes to boats im no newb, I welcome the concern however I am completly new to the electric boat genre.. this boat is no fun to drive compared to my nitro riggers. or my gas hydro's. 50mps just isnt cutting it. Maybe my original post came off newbish and in some regard it is considering The only thing i know about electronics is that my reciever battery must be charged before I run. I spoke with the gentleman over at neu motors and he said I could get away with a 240 esc and run a 3s set up at about 8-1000mah saddle back. Thats the set up I'm going to go with and we will see how nutty I can make this lil thing. THanks again for everyones time and concern

Ryan, Lately we have had an influx of nitro and gas guys coming over to this board and it's hard to distinguish the newbie from the cross over. The guys on this board have burned up tens of thousands of dollars of equipment and we dont want new guys getting into the hobby to have a bad first experience with FE's. Whether it's burning up equipment, spending hard earned money on the wrong componants or ending up with a boat that performs below expectations. So thats the reason for the tough love.

                      Good luck with your project.

Its nothing like nitro or gas except that it scoots across a water surface. You got alot of variables and when one of them is out of whack, that part fails and can take down another piece of equipment with it..................an overtaxed ESC can turn the whole boat into a charred mess as an extreme example, but its happened before.

If you want "extremely nuts", then put a system in it that will get you that and last. Throw a 1527 in it on 6s with a 200 swordy..................there's your "nuts".

I do hope it all works out though.............prop way down.
