    What to buy? Your thoughts

My father was looking into getting another boat, I think he has an addiction to buying boats!

So far he has a Genesis, Pursuit and a cheapie Tunnel Hull.

He saw a Spartan in a magazine and was romanced (lol) by its decals. I have read lots here on the Spartan and doesn't look like its a very reliable or popular boat. He does have one on hold but I have been trying to steer him away from it until they have sorted the boat out, if they make a Spartan V2.

I have given him some other options of RTR boats which include:
    • Miss Geico
    • UL-1

I know most boats do better with some upgrades but was hoping to find one that runs good out of the box with little to do in the area of upgrades.

Could you suggest which one is your choice or offer any other suggestions in RTR boats?

My thought was a UL-1 as its a different type of boat. However I noticed that its needs an air dam and some other stuff done.

The Aquacraft Motley Crew is coming out soon. I'd go that route

Doesn't need an airdam, only when pushing the envelope. Mostly a prop swap and strut adjustment and she will be cruising. I also agree waiting for the AQ MC though.

Yeah he was looking at the AQ MC. He is not in love with the decals lol.

Id have to agree, it looks toyish. Probably looks good on the real life boat though.

Any reason for the MC? is it the new factor that makes it good or is there some good hardware involved?

In the video of the interview with Grim the boat looks very good. I didn't like the images at all from AQ's website but after I seen the interview the boat looks a lot more appealing. The boat has had some serious R&D and has been race tested by many people here. The videos I seen the boat runs amazing. Take a look down at the AQ general section on this forum and just read. The motor is just a beast it's the sv27r gold can motor (same as the ul1 motor with a lower (1800kv) rating), should swing a nice prop and run really cool. The esc is the ul1 esc which works great as well. Add teh Tactic radio and nice overall package. Should be a real runner, I have mine on backorder
