I will do, have to wait until he's awake, it's a bit hard from the other side of the world. I know the mono's come with the carbon reinforcement but would anyone know if the 42" sprint cat does too?

The big Sprint Cats did not use to come with carbon fiber reinforcement. But, when I bought my Mean Machine recently I called Remey Jr. andtold him I wanted the whole hatch opening area all the way up the sides carbon fiber reinforced and it was no problem. I've known the Remey's since the mid 80s, good people, but calling them is best. Again, good luck with the build.

Oh, are you going to get the Sprint Cat with or without rails? I don't think you would need reinforcement with the rails but it would be a tought fit.....

without rails I would think, in the email I asked for the hull to be reinforced with carbon and the hatch to be sealed, eg. no air hole. I'll wait another hour and give him a call, I'm itching to get this project started. I've spent most the day trying to study up and work out what hardware would be best suited, any suggestions?

Sounds like you got it all setup and just have to wait for the hull. Did you pick a color or just stay with white and custom paint it later? This is the build I would love to try, but being old and retired (poor) I just don't have the money anymore.....

                Twin 1717s, T180s with extra caps, 6s1p (5000mah 40C or nano 5000 25-50c), 450/3s

is a very reliable setup for 60 mph.

or with 447s even cooler for 55mph

I have tried it here http://forums.offshoreelectrics.com/...ad.php?t=20352
                Twin Cat 135, Sprintcat40 (single-twin), DF 35", Maritimo, Mean Machine, SV 27

Thanks for the info, I've been trying to call but I think he may be having the Easter period off, I'll try again on Tuesday. (gee it sucks when you have such a hard time giving someone money, but from what I'm reading, it'll be worth the wait)

I haven't had good luck running 1p with the 1717. I have the smaller 29" version and I wanted the 43" but I ended up getting a RC boatworks cat that I love. So far it's been bulletproof with the setup you're looking at with cr x452/3 using speedmaster stingers .187 flex with 3/16 shaft. Fastest so far has been 68.

Thanks mate, I had a look at your build thread, I think I may borrow some of your layout ideas.

Have at it. The one thing I'm very glad I did was add oiling tubes. No need to remove the flex shaft to oil.

sorry mate but I want one without rails.
I'm having a very hard time getting hold of remy by both phone and email, I did speak to him the other night and I asked if he could put a hardware package together for me that'll suit the build, I know I'm impatient but it's just killing me as I have the money for the build put aside and I just want to get this boat paid for and in my shed ready to start work. can anyone recommend when the best time to call him? It's hard for me due to time zones.
