Soldering the cut end was suggested sometime ago for cables used with set screw couplers , so they don't give when set screws are tightened. Octura couplers if i'm correct don't use set screws. I like either type if quality is GOOD.

I wont use loctite for Flex Cables again. I got the high dollar Loctite stuff and its let loose on a few occasions. My wire drives hold up 100% no failure though...42" Osprey, 32" Pursuit, 26" Bling Rocket (rescue), Blizzard Rigger, JAE 21FE rigger, Hobby King rigger (RIP)Comment

One of my friends is running a 1.9M Maratimo Cat from MHZ with 2 5HP RCMKs and used Loctite on his Flex to stub and its still fine. that thing would have a lot more stress on it than well, almost anything else hahahah
All depends what kind of Loctite you use, theres a lot of different types, some are for oily locations which are permanent.Comment
