Burnt out JST Connector

I have a Turnigy 4000mah 3s lipo and have burnt out the JST balancer connector.

How are these replace.

Those are the correct connectors. "Burnt Out" isn't descriptive enough to advise on how to replace it. Did you melt the JST plug trying to measure voltage? Or did the wires somehow become shorted together? A pic would help in determining what type repair's needed . . . .

Nope. That's polyquest. The wires are wired up wrong and too many spaces in the plug.

Whilst I was programming an ESC my father was out soldering one of those HK Low Voltage buzzers. The solder must have gone across the connections so when plugged into the battery it sparked and melted/burnt the jst plug coming off the lipo.

The link description states JST-XH balance connectors. I took a second look at the pic, & those connectors don't look like the ones on my Turnigy Packs. Hobby King might have used the wrong product picture in their listing. This sort of thing makes me leary of exactly what I'll receive when I order from them.

If the pins aren't burnt too badly, & still attached to the wires, you may be able to break the melted plastic off of them. Then you'd just have to insert them into a new plug. The pins have a tab on them that locks into the connector. They are easily removable - - provided you get the correct connectors. If the burnt connector is totally wasted, you might have to splice in a new one by soldering the new wires to the old. Good Luck !!!

Be very careful, or you'll end-up shorting out the new one, also !!!

I hate to be defeatist, but if I were you I would scrap that pack and buy another as cheap as they are. I certainly wouldn't risk going into the pack and trying to solder new wires in. They require a special aluminum solder to begin with and unless you already have that, the aluminum solder kits are several $$$ just by themselves. Just my 2cents worth.

Just had a different thought. Post a pic of the connector that got trashed. I may have one to match it, WITH wires on it that you could hopefully just splice to the existing wires from the pack if they weren't compromised in the accident. I'd be happy to send you the connector/wires for free!
